Just around 1"-2" today but the wind sure was kicking it around! Looked like it wanted to get worse and then it would take a breather only to start up again.
Supposed to be in the mid-thirties tomorrow.

Had 45 today and headed for low 20s with the cold front that blew in this afternoon. Will have a fire tonight and probably toss a few on in the morning. Headed for 70 by Thursday. Lows will be in the 40s to 50s by the end of the week and in to next. Won't be too many fires left for the year. Might have an every now and again fire for at least anothet week or 2 to re-warm the thermal mass of the house. Wife thinks its chilly if it isn't 72 when we get up in the morning.:loco:

45º outside 76º inside feels real good, started back up at about 5. Rain all day and still raining. 30º overnight and high of 45º tomorrow then down to mid 20's before we turn the corner. 30's overnight until end of week but warm through the day so probably be chill chasers. Dry with sun it looks like for next 7 days, sure hope they are right.

30º outside today, 74º inside, had the blower on the lowest setting overnight as it was a bit warm in here when I went to bed. I'll load a few smallish splits in about an hour.

Heavy frost in the river bluffs this morning. Still working on some honey Locust. Forecast is for 70's by the end of the week. Probably another month of evening fires and I'll be done for this burning season.

We had two fires yesterday, the last one after supper. We had 35 this morning so we had a small fire in the Liberty.

The sun is finally getting through the clouds that are hopefully clearing, it's time to find some downed firewood.

Had another "last fire" for the season this morning...ash/elm.

I find it's hard to reminisce about your last fire for the season when you keep having them. :)

Blower finally kicked off from the small fire this morning. 77º inside right now but heading toward high 20's overnight so I will probably build an overnight fire. Sunny and clear showing for tomorrow, looks like it will be nightly fires until the weekend.

rained today so not much solar gain.
a quick red maple and pine burn right now, maybe toss some oak on late.
this might be our last one
weather looks more conducive to lower degree days

We had some hail earlier around 6:10 or so. Luckily not like the hail some others had down South and west .:faint: Baseball sizes were taking lots of people windows out of their homes and vehicles! The national news was showing videos of it.o_O Yikeys!

Interesting. It's 72 in the house right now. With the windows open at that.

We escaped Wisconsin and are in Orlando until next Tuesday.

I had a fire today and 2 days ago. In charcoal briquettes. :D

Keep those fires going, I want y'all to warm that air up before we get back home.

I can't find a version of the whole scene where he sees him out on the wing. But here is one where he tries to do something about it. LOL
