image.jpeg So I decide to redo the wood shed yesterday. I have a bunch of pallet racks full of firewood that work great for moving wood and storing. But in the shed they take up a lot of space. So I decided to restacn it so I can fit more firewood in the shed. I think this will end up really opening it up in there and giving me a lot more room. The stack in the right side is what I am going with now.

Love the shed. If you have the time you might want to make something to stack the wood on to prevent the bottom from absorbing moisture and let some air under the stacks. I use two 10' 2x4 PTs with spacers to keep them 16" apart. I find that with the level base the stack don't fall as often.

I have pallets on the other side but they were a pain, there is a good thick layer of gravel under the shed so the wood shouldn't sit in any water. I figured I would give this way a shot and see how it goes.

Are you happy with that shed set up? I'd like to get one.

It should work Sean. And yes, you should gain a lot of space.

Nice work swags, how much room will you save?

I'll have to do some shed restacking too. Cheap Chinease lag bolt broke. This was a wall of my uglies bin, which I really don't need anymore so I think I'll just take it out.

Looking really good, I would love to have some open storage like that. Getting really tired of the tarps!

I thought you were planning on selling? If so, why re-stack now?

Heavy winds knocked off one sheet of metal roofing here, which knocked down one side. Fairly minor but mandatory re-stacking now.

I would love one of those carports but don't have the room.

We were planning on selling and over this past winter we changed what we are planning. We bought some land in Hartville. But recent changes with work and kids in school we decided to stay where we are and sell the land we planned on building on. It will free up a lot of money and we are still close to there where we are now. And if we stay we don't have to worry about the expense of building. So with that I decided to restack.

I had a few hours this afternoon so I went back at it and was able to finish all the stacking. Moved three cord today. The tractor and pallets made it go quick. I picked each pallet up and moved it next to where I was restacking. Then pretty much just pulled off the pallet and stacked it to the roof. My phone died so I didn't get to take a picture but I will in the morning. It left a big space in the middle of the shed and the right side is stacked a little over half ways to the back of the shed three rows wide.
