How many of you have one of these?

I would have went higher today if I had one.. Starting to think I should make the purchase and just leave the tonneau cover off during wood season..

 

I have been very hesitant about commenting to this thread because no, I do not have one and usually slide the wood in and build the front row first. If I toss one through the back window now that I have fessed up it's all your fault for bringing it up NH mountain man

I don't but one of the tree guys that I get wood recently put one on his truck. When I step outside I still can hear the echo of someone off in the distance cussing at the top of his lungs......

 

I have seen a guy do this too so I built wooden block spacers to place between the tires and the front of the bed to give the winch room.

 

I'm not making excuses for the results of my misfortune mind you, but, part of the reason it happened was due to the fact that I bought a truck that did not have an 8' bed. So.....I had to drive the ATV as far forward as I could in order to at least put the tailgate up in a half closed position.
Normally, I would have a scrap piece of plywood standing upright in the winch area.

 

I have seen guys use those automotive "oil changing" ramps to run the front of the bike up on. Puts the tires the top of the box and the tilt angle of the bike keeps the winch away from the window. Depending on the size of quad, it usually works well for 6 1/2' boxes to be able to lift the tailgate. I have a 5 1/2' box so it's always tailgate down when hauling the bike for me. Moving the bike back a few extra inches with the front spacer blocks doesn't matter any.

I don't have one, but I don't use my truck for anything that require one. Many years ago when we hauled wood in my father's truck, he made a headache rack out of wood. Must be he got nervous seeing my brother and I load wood!

 

My next door neighbor has that on the drivers side of his mini-van. For around 2 months now I've noticed it needed replacement. The first time I noticed it, he had a solid (non transparent material) piece in it. Guess he had to drive a few days to figure out he can't see traffic at intersections, maybe? Maybe he thinks he's saving money to roll out another piece of plastic for from time to time.
