C'mon now Bert fess up! Don't try to blame the garage door on the wind when you really ran into it with the motorcycle!
Came home from a meeting. Our road is littered with small limbs. The telephone line and service box was ripped off my house. I'll go out in the daylight tomorrow to see what else is have to deal with. Several thousand without power in the area. We are ok.
All this crap weather, snow half the day today, and snow tomorrow for the AM commute, and again for the PM commute. I'll be in Orlando for 11 days on Saturday night.
Sorry to see the damage Deer meadow and Bert. 125 mph wind is just crazy!!! Glad I live in a hollow in the valley. Not much wind here.
Yeah that was a bad day for a lot of people around here. It was three months before I could get my roofs replaced.
At least it missed the wiring, I shut the power off before I pulled it back through the wall.......... Like I always say the wind doesn't blow in Nevada it SUCKS!
Bert, this reminds me of one time going through your state and I had $15,000 worth of bicycles on the roof of a van. Dang, that wind can raise H with things. Almost lost those bikes and even had to do some repairs on the bike rack. Fortunately I was able to limp into a town that had a decent hardware so I could rig up something to get me back on the road heading to San Francisco. That was tough working on the bike rack too with all the wind.
Yeah, it can be bad here and ya never know from day to day what kind of weather you'll have.......... Hey Backwoods Savage, I went this morning.
So I called the town office, they told me to call 211 or the Sheriff. I did that, got the runaround. then call the power company, and then the phone company. All I got was press this and then that. No one, repeat no one wanted to answer the phone about the down phone line going across the road.
I even went on line to Fairpoints web site. In their email section, I had to list my phone number and a cell phone number. I wasn't giving them my data. I don't have a land line. Can't believe I couldn't just report this to the town and let them handle it. I don't care about the line being ripped off my house, The issue was that it is lying across the road. No body wanted to hear about it.
Deer Meadow Farm and Bert I can't bring myself to mark your posts as "like". I am just glad not to be in your places. I saw that rain/wind here too LinkedXJ but my result was a bit different. Now I have the results of a lightning strike to repair on my stand-alone garage. It destroyed the corners on 2 opposite corners of the garage and left plenty of vinyl siding melted or damaged. One of the lights on the front is hanging kind of loose because the mounting plate for it was partially dislodged. I guess I should count it as lucky because there was no damage to the house I am building next to that garage, the one that gets my new wood stove. Yesterday was dry and not too windy so I got out and replaced the stud on one corner and reattached the OSB to that stud. It also gave me the chance to tie down the remaining undamaged siding to prevent further damage.
