    Gas have you looked at a fixed thumb for the backhoe?

    The single hydraulic line could have been for a 4 in 1 bucket?

    Looks like good stuff. 5% Moly-disulfide is good for all that slow sliding contact.

    I keep two grease guns loaded in the shop. One with grease for extreme-pressure applications, much like that XHP 322. It gets used on loader/backhoe/excavator pins and similar joints. The second gun is loaded with a water-resistant high speed bearing grease for mower spindles and trailer hubs, etc.

    I have thought about that. Since the hydraulic action is already there. But I would want one that was pretty long so I could grab a big azz pile. And easily removable.

    Not sure on the single hydraulic line.

    They sell thumbs that swing back towards the arm so you have full range of the bucket when not needed.
    one bolt or pin and you're back to full digging

    Nothing serious. I'm actually out right now. So I have the option of a NAPA, Tractor Supply, Advanced Auto. What do you guys suggest? Decent grease for a good deal.?

    4x4. Actually for what it is it's fairly technically advanced. Has 2 wd auto 4wd or 4wd and the only 3 point I know of with down pressure. For $1300 for the whole deal how could you beat it? All I was looking for was the winch and this came out on Craigslist, bought it figuring I'd get rid of the tractor and put the winch on my old Kubota but after running it I sold the Kubota with issues and kept Claribel. She ain't pretty nor do I care, I have it to run in the woods when it doesn't make sense to pay to move my skidder for a day's work.

    on a 30+ yo loader there's probably enough slack in the pins that any grease is good grease;)
    keep an eye out for the battery operated grease guns to go on sale

    Yes. I have done much research over the years. But I don't already have the bracket/holes for the pin/thumb on the arm. I'll take my time, and probably shoot for a heavy duty, custom built grapple for the front loader. When I can afford it. In the meantime I'll make do with the bucket and hoe.

    They have thumbs that clamp on the arm or weld on - no need for the holes

    Funny you say that. I just saw a Dewalt on sale at tractor supply. But I won't be spending the money on it now.

    when you need a third hand on a flexible hose grease gun the trigger is super handy.

    As far as finding a 4 in 1 bucket for the front end on a machine that age with that quick attach setup - good luck

    Imagine being able to pluck logs off a pile (safely nonetheless) and saw them to firewood length at waist height. Possible with a front grapple but a bit awkward compared to the thumb. Do your grapple first Gas as It's best suited to what you have planned for work. But do the thumb at some point too. Keep it simple, (mechanical, weld-on) but once you have it, you will wonder how in the H-E-double hockey sticks you ever got along without it.

    Tractor supply for the grease, look for something rated "extreme pressure" and it should say contains X% of moly (molybdenum disulfide) on the tube. Stuff should be dark grey or nearly black in color. Extra sticky too.
