I haven't bought anything new lately to process wood except some chains. I threw my back out a couple of weeks ago so I took a weekend off and replaced an axe handle and modified one to fit an old pickeroon head my brother found at a yard sale... I did buy this to burn wood however and to make some yummy syrup! Pardon the redneck set-up. Next year I hope to house it in a proper sugar shack!
That's a great price! You should be very happy with that score sir. I would not have blinked. It looks like a Leonard, Lone Wolf or equivalent...nice and heavy duty. Again congrats!
Cool thread. I need to find the time to read all the post. I bought an Echo 361P not too long ago. Good for cutting up the smaller stuff for firewood and great saw for trimming up the trees. I have a lot of that to do!
Oh yeah, forgot, got one of these recently but haven't had a chance to really use it yet. Maasdam 3/4 Ton x 100' Rope Puller
Thanks. It is a Leonard, I had never heard of them before. The CL ad was pretty pathetic, just a few grainy pics taken with what looked like a flip phone and a description that pretty much said "Trailer, wider than 6ft by 12ft length. Works fine. Calls only, no text or email". I really didn't even know how heavy duty it was until I went and looked at it.
Combination; home-built just not by me! A guy in NH builds a few of these each year and sells them on CL. Much less expensive than the "brand" names and it seems to work just fine for me! Congrats! You'll love it and you'll wonder how you got by without it. I have the Igland (which makes the Norse) model. I've made a few upgrades/modifications to it. I love it. Best investment I've made!
He does quality work, I genuinely couldn't tell whether that was made in a factory or not. Looks like some of the commercial ones I've seen for sale. Some day, I'll make my own syrup for my jiffy cakes!
