Well the bargain couch in the pic was not a bargain after all. We tossed it last weekend. I bought a used lazyboy loveseat off craigslist, it has a full size hideaway bed. It is a 100% more comfortable than the one below.

We bought a cheap living room set with free financing on black friday... I'll be surprised if it outlasts the payments. I guess you get what you pay for.

[IMG]24 yrs ago, wife and I were looking for end tables and coffee table for our apartment that was decent yet affordable.
Well, we have a friend who said to go to HD and pick up some red oak, and finish, and he would make them for us.
2 years later, we had a house, and need for 3 more tables.

Simple, sturdy, and NOT particle board.

(Coffee table has toooo much stuff on it, but its lower and longer and wider)

Not that it makes it any better, but we used it for 1 year and 2 months. The cushions barely held on with a strip of velcro:eek:, so they were always trying to fall off and ended up on the floor daily from baby and dogs, I lay down on the couch often during the day, I could feel the few metal bars underneath through the thin cushions and could feel the lumber behind the back cushions:rolleyes:

It was bigger than I realized too, we ended up tossing one of ells this winter, the least comfortable one. The "good" ell we kept got worse quickly. The cushions got pretty dirty too (dogs, kid, and no lawn just mud after the new septic system last fall), so we just tossed the whole thing.

Funny you say that. We bought our sectional at Ashley furniture a little over two years ago. Our dogs nails put a thousand pulls in it, three of the cushions had springs in the cushion that sprung. Now those cushions have a big lump in them. The back of the short side had a piece of wood that broke internally and is poking through the fabric. We're going to wait until the dog passes until we get a new one. Might be the worst piece of furniture we've ever purchased.

We didn't pay a whole lot for it (I think it was $1100 or something) and wasn't expecting high quality furniture but I thought it would have been a bit better than it is.
