Here's a cold start stack for my stove. Notice the kindling in the front. This would be about a 4 hour burn at about 30°F.
Wood stove hasn't been on in over a week. But... I took a very long time to stack all these little Itty bitty logs into the pellet stove About packed full! lol
Fun thread, can't wait to participate. Right now I'm using up a bunch of oak splits that are too long to sit straight in the stove, so I'm the jenga looser @ the moment...
I was just thinking of this thread last night when I loaded the stove, but wasn't on last night.....busy time of the year for me as the Salvation Army bell ringing ramps up, but I do enjoy it, usually see some folks I rarely run into. **** Teens coming in so I'll try to get a shot or 2 of the Buck stuffed full.
That's stuffing that stove for all its got! What kind of burn time are you getting out of those size loads?
I love that this thread is still alive. I'm getting through some tough to arrange, ripped up elm right now. the nice straight locust and oak is coming soon, and so is the REALLY cold stuff. I'll post up some good ones soon. meantime, rdust is KILLING it with that BK.
