Everyone knows if you build a remote cabin anywhere, sooner or later some idiot may try to get in. Got the call yesterday from a good friend who told us one of the porch windows was smashed in. Just so it was on record, I called the local sheriff's office. They were great and we planned to call them today after we went up to check it out. 3 hours later, we got a call from a couple of the dep's... they had walked in the 1/2 mile to the cabin to check it out. That was unexpected and helped us relax a lot last night. My honey and I loaded up this morning and headed over. It was a mess with shards of glass all through the cabin. We picked up what we could. It was really cold and windy so we wanted to get out of there fast. It's obvious the jughead didn't go in the cabin because he would have gotten cut up badly on all of the pieces of glass still all around the frame... and, all of the broken glass on the bed wasn't moved. I'm thinking a young snowmobiler thought he'd be cute and break a window... I'm still trying to figure out my computer issue with Adam, posting pics, but WW has said she'll put em up again. Thx.
Not the cabin! I'm still jealous of that beautiful cabin I can't bear the thought of someone hurting her. I'm glad they didn't do more damage or steal anything. Maybe I need to stay there a few months to keep an eye on things.
#1- that really stinks, Stinny Glad nothing seemed to be missing. But I hate that y'all's hard work was vandalized Could you rig up a game-cam in the future? #2- wildwest, I can't see the pics... Just a blue square with a "?" in it. But it's awesome of you to relay the pics
This stinks. Sorry to here about the damage!!! Maybe some "Stinny sized" shutters are in order!!! Saw these in Denali Keeps out bears
... welp... just got a call from one of the cops who went up yesterday... and he's convinced it was a bird strike. And, he made some good points... a roundish impact on the screen and the glass broke evenly all around the frame. Those sharp pieces still stuck in the frame would have been no big deal for someone trying to break-in... they could unlock the window and slide it up. That didn't happen. There was also a tiny bit of feathers on the window above it too. So, (you know I had to)... I asked the cop how much jail time that bird was lookin' at and how long he thought it would take to catch him... So apparently I'm the jughead and not some young kid... ... glad that's never happened before...
What did they use to break the window? You didn't leave them a nice large object on the porch to use did you?
