Been pocket carrying a 442 for 3 years now. Starting to show some pocket wear, but that is to be expected. Shoots well, with just enough recoil to remind you it's a 14oz revolver.
Have to turn in the wife's paperwork for her FID card (good ol new germany). Hoping hers doesn't take months like most do. Started on another evil black gun build. Aero lower, PSA upper, fixed magpul stock. Just got my barrel in after waiting weeks for it to come back in stock. .
If it takes more than two weeks, "complain" to the chief of police and then tell him or her your going to Senator Lobiando! He's our NJ gun rep, has an A+ for gun rights, you'll have it the next day!!! Trust me it works, Their not allowed to take that long and it's Bu!!$#iT, They take so long because it's not a priority, I have a good friend who is a local Cop and he explained to me "WHY" it takes so long. It sits on someones desk till they get a round to it, usually a rookie who is clueless!
Going to go look at a Chinese SKS "today" Yeah!!! Got a bid on one at a local gun shop. Might just own it today!!!
Your right on the money WeldrDave . We don't have a local pd up here so our paperwork goes through njsp. The guys at our barracks could care less and the Sargeant in charge of handling firearms permits is a total Dbag. They require us to schedule an appointment with him to turn in our papers. Problem is, he is "out of the office" all the time or only takes appointments certain days of the week. I've complained in the past about permits that were post dated two weeks by the time i received a call. Nothing was done, got a "sorry that happens sometimes" Things need to change BIG TIME!
Call Assemblyman Bob Andrajsack, "not sure if I spelled it right" He's local for the area. "By law" it's only supposed to take no more than two weeks!
Back to the good stuff! I have officially added to the herd! Best guess is, it's about a 1953 or 54 I haven't narrowed it down yet with the serial # but the armory symbol put's it in that time frame.
Statue reads - Thirty days to approve- rarely ever happens. Our Governor just made some minor changes that won't change the process for most, just pandering and trying to improve his image. The slow process has saved my bank account many times hahaha
Both FID card and permit to purchase, same exact form and process. I don't remember what the waiting time was in 1980. Some towns still get the paperwork back quickly. Some things even the towns that do make it a priority cant control. Like the mental heath backgrounds that require other agencies to respond.
