Just wanted to introduce myself, I have been lurking on the site for a while now and thought I should join. I am relatively new to wood burning, about 1 year now and love it. I have learned a lot from you guys across the Atlantic and have now a full on wood addiction. Since my saw has packed up it gives me time to post here it is a McCulloch cs400t low cost generic saw similar to a wild thing, scored the piston and cylinder working it to hard, although it has had 2 years hard use. I have ordered a new piston kit (Chinese) and will keep as a spare. I have ordered a new Dolmar PS420sc (read good reports from this site), from Germany as it is about £100 less than here in the UK. Just want to say thanks to all of you who post as I love seeing the pictures and hearing your stories. As you all like photos here are some from Scotland telling our story starting of our wood burning adventure.

Welcome to the site Loch Long! You will fit in here just fine, especially if you keep posting such great pictures. I especially like your wood shed--very nicely done. Great job on the introduction. You will, no doubt, hear from many members today.

Welcome. Interesting how keeping warm with wood brings folks from all over together.

I really like your wood shed, it came out very nice! Also enjoyed seeing the pictures of your younger helper pitching in and helping with the work.... It's nice isn't it?

Another hearty welcome from across the pond. We all share a somewhat primitive bond, and it feels great to get back to simpler things. I say simpler, but you all know that heating with wood can sometimes be anything but simple. Haha. Ceud mìle fàilte.

Welcome to our humble abode,Loch Long

Went to Scotland for 10 days in September 2004,loved it very much.Hope to return someday.

One of my favorite beers - its not always available here but I grab a 4 pack when I do see it in stores.
Skull Splitter - Named after Torfinn Hausakljuv ,the 7th Viking Earl of Orkney This dark copper/chocolate 8.5% wee heavy Scottish ale is quite strong but very smooth tasting.Brewed on the Orkney Islands located in the North Sea,north of the Scottish mainland, not far from Norway.

Not easy to find, seen this for sale about 2 months ago, first time locally in almost 4 years. The Royal Mile Pub/Restaurant downtown has it on their menu in bottles once again.
