We'll take it after the dry winter, it should be gone by the end of the day tomorrow in the spots that get full sun.
Burned a load of ash last night low 31 °F , no fire yet today , 45 °F now, High: 47 °F will load something up tonight
Right around 22 on the back porch this morning. Pine going in the boiler and I will need to bring some more wood in today.
We're at about the same Gasifier. Small load of oak last night and this morning. Temps to cruise near 60 today
Windy, wet and temps are dropping throughout the day. Snow should hit overnight. It is another one of those days where the high temps was recorded overnight and no during the daytime. Yesterday, you could tell something was up with the weather-we had to work outside all day and every now and then, the wind would blow a very cold temp at us. Sot steady, just every now and then, but then became more frequent as the day wore on.
Almost 50 still. Good news thewoodlands ! That low precipitation you talked about we have had this season.....Looks like rain off and on for three days. Then possibly turning to snow!
How much snow are they talking about for your area? After I did some cutting I went to see my father, it was 55 on the way back. It's 43 tonight so I'll have a small Cherry fire tonight. I'm seeing people who received their firewood in June last year are already getting it delivered this year.
They aren't talking any accumulation that I've seen. Just a 30-40% chance of snow late Saturday night and through Sunday. We'll see. But it sure looks like we will both be burning through a decent amount of wood Saturday night through Tuesday! Eh? Sat Apr 2 49° 21° WindSW 17 mph Sun Apr 3 30° 19° Cloudy with gusty winds. High around 30F. Winds NW at 20 to 30 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph. Mon Apr 4 31° 18° Cloudy skies. High 31F. Winds NE at 10 to 15 mph. Tue Apr 5 33° 18° This morning it is 43 with rain. I turned the boiler off last night before going to bed and just fired it up this morning with some Elm I came into and a little Ash.
Mainly 50's and low 60's during the day with lows in the 40's the next few days. Usually start a fire around noon and run until bedtime. Burning red elm with a little honey locust. I don't really cut "shoulder" wood, I just build smaller fires.
The highs after today (fri ,sat, sun, mon)will be in the low 30's and high 20's. Today is supposed to get to 37, but I think it may be one of those overnight high temps again. The snow we were supposed t get overnight never showed up. Yet.
I just checked this morning, the wind forecast changed that quick, we'll see if they jump it up again. This morning they had us getting about 1.5 inches of snow, I did see on T.V. some might get 5-8 inches of snow..
We keep missing the rains, starting to remind me of how 2012 started out. Any day I don't start a fire I get dirty looks from my partner in crime! He is all about the wood stove!
It's 47 with the trend heading up, nothing going this morning in the Liberty except a few coals from the overnight fire. We had rain overnight so the snow is gone, we'll see what this cold weather brings in for snow.
Overcast all day again of course. Kinda freezing rain ish pellets flakes sorta thing going on. but nothing sticking yet. Hovering at 34 but the basement is up to 63 so far!
31 and the snow doesn't know if it's coming or going. Snows, then stops, repeat. The less, the better as there are no accumulations yet.
