Sometimes whether I'm working around in the backyard (today) or cutting in the woods at parents acreage (yesterday) I just like to stop, sit down on something & listen to all the different sounds. Plus look around & overhead also, all kinds of birds around me,I seen a Great Horned Owl & a Red-Tailed Hawk soar away barely 5 minutes apart.Owls hunt at night/dawn/dusk so something may've woken it up & Hawks hunt in daylight hours.
Sounds a lot like my weekend, except a hawk swooped in and snatched one of the birds off the feeder, think it was a finch. Not a good ay to be a finch.
Just this morning, when I went out onto my back deck to chase off a couple of squirrels, I was commenting to my wife that we are running a zoo. The feeder brings in jays, wrens, woodpeckers, chickadees, cardinals, grackles, mourning doves and finches but as I walked to the back of the deck 2 squirrels and a rabbit were running across the back yard. It may all sound typical to many of you but I live in a housing tract house on less than 1/3 acre.
There are usually a few nights a winter that one will announce it's presence outside the bedroom window! Thank you...
I went back through this thread as I had missed some of the posts. This is just one awesome thread, Our Redeemer Lives.
I just look at how He's assembled us here and what a wonderful group of people it really is here......hidden in plain sight! Very glad to be a part of this family!
