Well, the road trip out west I took with a buddy's Riviera, stopping at a Sinclair station, to ride the dinosaur, and buy gas I suppose. That was in green river, Wyoming. Green River, start of all things grunge. And there's the rest of the story.
thought that title went to Neil Young aka the Godfather of Grunge Why is Neil Young called the Godfather of Grunge?
IIRC, he would say, " And Now......the rest of the story...." Same Thing Only Different or for the future- STOD.... Pay attention yooperdave
We have the same memories WW. Blankets and pillows in the back of this wagon. My folks used to drive 265 miles, from Vt to our old farm, and I'd ride back there the whole way with the rear window down on warm days. No seat belts, no air bags, no lawyers... how did we survive...
Dad was a bike guy when he came back from WWII, 1949 Speed Twin 1950 Thunderbird 1952 TR5, he raced from 1948 to 2001, he was 74 his last race. He raced a 1925 Indian big valve board tracker at Davenport Iowa antique flat track races, he is now 89.1/2. When you get that old the 1/2 year matters. Nope, no cool cars for him. Oh and he is a plane guy, 1947 Piper Cub bought totaled, completely rebuilt by him and his brother both A&P mechanics around 1949. Soloed after 8 hours and got his license. Retired from Grumman Aerospace, worked on everything from the first Lunar Module to the Space Shuttle several X planes, XF 91 and X 29 and all of the Navy stuff.
Be sure to give your father a big hug and Thank You from all of us here at FHC, ironpony. Would love to hear his stories
