Finally got back to working on the downstairs bathroom project. I've been working on this for way too long so I decided to try to make some progress. I decided to work on finishing out the window. I framed it out an put up a bit of drywall....oh and an essential piece of wall art too. I have priorities after all. I may also try to dig up some old pics of the build to date if you guys want.
Slow and steady wins the race...Let's see the Build to date pictures!! Like your priorities as you call them!!
I found the coolest stuff for the bathroom windows at my previous home. It went on like window tint film but had a pattern on it. Looked like etched glass, providing privacy but still let light in.
Good idea, my wife said the same thing. 99% of the time my wife's car blocks the "view" into the bathroom, but it still is a good idea.
Oh boy....I got the slow part down, but it's not too steady of progess. It's "my" bathroom according to my bride says so as long as it functions I'm ok with the slow pace.
3M/Contact makes that stuff, "Frosty". I found some diamond pattern stuff at a craft store for my basement hopper window. that window is right along my drive and if you are at my electric meter you could look right in. I also have a reloading bench in the basement that no one needs to see, or my pellet stash.
I wanted just plain frosted and couldn't find it anywhere and finally saw the diamond stuff and bought it. Was looking for something in my storage office at work and found a roll that we used on our lunchroom glass of exactly what I wanted. go figure after it is done and I have too many other projects to go backwards and do it over right now.
I went with the Blue Chipped Glass window film - found at local BBS in the blinds section. There are lots of patterns, both plain and with colors.
Because of the shape of the room and because the basement has kneewalls, I ended up with an extra deep wall. I tried to take advantage of the area by making an area for a built in towel shelves. Please notice more fine art. I used scrap oak plywood to build the box. I've got it roughed, ready for some edge veneer and stain. I need another piece of oak to replace the temporary pine shelf.
