You went and did it, didn't you wildwest?! Thought you'd at least save the pic to your computer and repost it
Don't know if it is cool or not, but my Mom won a car back in the 70's. It had the Levi's blue jean interior also "The Gremlin X" This image is not the "X" package....
My Dad came home with one of these, it was used, but with a fresh paint job. He loved it anyway After I left home, he started driving Lincolns
It just took you a minute to post it was all I was saying..... It was a pretty cool car- We drove it up to Killington, VT to go skiing when I was in H.S.-----and tried to get to the rental house up on top of one of the six mountains..... Almost a foot of snow on the ground when we got there, and the last bit of the road was like 30 degrees, a steep steep hill. After shutting my screaming mother up, my dad told my brother and I to sit on the hood of that Front WD V8 and we sailed right up that hill like nobody's business.... Mom had to walk up it, as she got Fred Flinstone'd out the passenger door at the bottom
How funny, I remember similar growing up (lots of steep roads in snow country ). My 81' Capri was RWD, had my highschool girlfriends in the car get out and sit on the hatchback, and jump up and down a bit if that was not enough. Our memories are too cool to forget for sure! Reminds of the stories of boys being asked back in the day to "water" and cool down the hot brakes on the much older cars. PS, jumping up and down on the back bumper also sloshed just enough gas to get up a hill or driveway when I drove home on empty
I helped a buddy move out west to Portland Oregon from Wisconsin. His car was a Riviera about that age. Maybe an 81? Fwd, v8, through snowy mtn passes. We stopped in Denver for Thanksgiving at his sister's house near DIA. The other car was a newer cavalier, his wife's car.
I think mom's was around an '85.... She washed & waxed it once a week, but heck that was every car she owned up until a few years ago. She's slowed up to about once a month now.
This was just like mom's coolest car. 93 Thunderbird SC. Man was that a fast car. Way ahead of it's time too. This wasn't hers, but it was a spitting image of it. Although it could be her actual tbird. You never know.
