Maglula speed loader

They are awesome. I have some mags that get quite tight when near capacity and the maglulas keep my fingers happy. Worth the money if you shoot regularly or in large quantities.

 

Would they work well with .380 auto and 9x19?

 

Yep - I only use with the Glock 17 - those last couple are a bear to put in. My Taurus is only 6 and the P38 is only 9, so easy enough to do by hand.

 

They work well until it goes mia at the range.

 

Not sure on exact compatibility, but mine works on CZ, S&W, Walther, FN, Glock 9mm full-size mags as well as Baby Eagle/Jericho .40.

Truth. Once tried, they are a must have. I gave away some as Christmas presents a couple years ago and got rave reviews.

 

Before I throw blame, it could have been an honest mistake at a 3 gun shoot or something to that effect. All I know, is one day it was gone lol

My XDM is dang near impossible to load past 12 with your fingers...and it holds 19. It came with a loader that isn't bad...but I'm not in love with it.

 

Oh yeah, I forgot the XDM - ex had one of those and yeah, the last 4-6 are bad to load up without a loader and the UpLula works better than the one the XDM comes with.

 

Yeah...you'd need some crazy finger strength/callouses to get #19 in there without a loader of some sort.

 

I guess I'm old school. I enjoy the time hand loading mags (unless it's cold out and have to unglove) and typically use that time to get a drink, let barrels cool, talk to others, etc. The last thing I need is a reason to shoot more ammo in an outing in less time

Now filling to capacity...I can see the benefit. A few of mine are stiff.

 

Can't say I've ever been been unable to fully load a mag.

 

My FN and CZ are the ones that give me a little trouble. #17 on the FN is a bear after half a dozen mag reloads. The CZ has a +2 extension on a 19rd mag. 20 & 21 are pretty tough on it. The Maglula isn't really about loading a single mag, it's about loading 25-30 of them on a fun day without compromising accuracy due to sore fingers. Great for folks with arthritis I imagine also.

I need to get out to the range.

 

I never go to the range, a match, or training class without mine. I have the pistol and AR loaders.

 

I shot IPSC for years, thousand rounds a weekend easy, never did anything but hand load. never seen anyone at the matches use one either.

 

I was beginning to question myself....but I physically could not load number 17 - 19 in an XDM mag today. Granted it is brand new...but I consider it more of a "loader" than a "speed loader". Maybe if it losens up a bit after some use. ..but right now it is a no go.
