So long as it isn't mixed it's like driving in your car with a 6 pack of beer bottles and some dirty socks. You could empty a bottle, fill it with gas and top it with a sock but you certainly can't be accused of having a Malatov Cocktail for having a 6 pack and a pair of dirty socks in your car.
It's fun stuff to shoot and hear the boom. We challenge ourselves to see who can make it go off- that's part of the fun- quite a shot at 100+ yards . We start off hand, and if I no one hits, try other positions until someone "wins." It's how we end our Sunday after noon shooting. Unfortunately, like many other things, I'm sure our government will soon protect us from it.
Local tannerite fatality. I'm all about having fun but be careful. OK Tannerite Explosion Kills 8-Year-Old - The Truth About Guns
It goes with the territory of "Stupid is as Stupid does" (Forrest Gump) Yes it's dangerous and if handled "INCORRECTLY" it will hurt you. This is why some folks start freaking out about certain things and want to "BAN" it. Don't forget here,: Sugary drinks will make you fat in New York and they want to tax you so you won't drink more! Yup, more stupid stuff!
I've used this stuff as a target before, and can hardly believe it hasn't been banned before lol. After we blew it up- I put the guns up and told my son it never happened. Even in an area where gunshots are common, the sound and blast draw attention and often a law enforcement response. Not just in NJ where you have some non firearm people. In Maine when visiting friends a neighbor related they called the local law after several bombs went off in the vicinity. The cops came back and told them it was tannerite which they had never heard of. These people hear gunshots all the time and never call anyone, were shocked such a thing could be legal. The "nanny" state , ban on half gallon soft drinks, smoking in public, healthy school lunches and such I can honestly understand and don't get too worked up over. If it affects youngsters and they don't develop the bad habits that all of society eventually pays for through treatment of diabetes/heart disease/ cancers- better for everyone. If youth doesn't have good family role models, I don't get worked up about a campaign to show them they can live a better life. I doubt an adult will change their habits. JMO
And here I thought diabetes/heart disease/cancers were all hereditary! Nice to know we can eliminate cancer with the elimination by just a few diet changes!
All three are rampant in my wife's and my family. "Elimination" would be exaggeration of what I posted . Are you suggesting there isn't a diet and exercise affect on heath, especially in people with a genetic pre-disposition?
Happy Easter A Visitor ! I don't like government making choices for me. Too bad the guy lost his leg using tannerite improperly, huh?
That would never happen, it's human nature to resist even when the message is in your best interest. On a purely practical side- imagine how much tax payers money could be saved if even a small percentage of lifestyle illnesses could be avoided. Public heath/ anti drug- alcohol abuse/ anti smoking/ physical fitness campaigns will never reach everyone. "Sin" taxes have been around forever, problem is the money they generate hardly ever goes towards fixing the problem.
Back at you. Anybody losing a leg sucks, I feel worse for the 8 year old that was killed in the story link posted. Also the 22 year old family member facing a manslaughter charge in his death. Two years from now you will be reading a story where this stove shooting one-legged guy is suing the tannerite company and ATF for not "protecting" him and making choices for him hahaha
Have witnessed literally hundreds and hundreds of pounds of this stuff being used with no injury. Many many intimate objects being dismantled. Very fun, but very messy as well. Stay safe out there.
I saw a news story on that one time. It's a real eye opener. I stopped making the McDonalds hot coffee reference after I saw it. I'll find it and post it.
