It is about a regular sized brick for the P43 and it only has 1. The P61 has 3 of them.

It's been 2 weeks since cleaning the two stoves.

The P43 could go a couple more at least but I sweep the ashes off the "shelves" a couple times a week so does not look as dirty as your pictures show even when the ash pan is full. Still, I clean it whenever I clean the P61, so will be tackling it soon.

The P61 needs cleaned this weekend. I could go longer for the ash pan (at least a week), but the ThermaGlos are so nasty that I need to either clean out the exhaust, in the igniter area or the fines box as it is starting to have issues with "over-feeding" (will hit all 3 areas tomorrow). Normally I cut the TG's with better pellets and it doesn't crap up the works so quick, but I just want to be rid of those sucky pellets, so have been burning them exclusively during this warmer weather.

I would say the igniter area p43 was over feeding the other day , only the left side of the pot was burning , couldn't generate enough heat to satisfy the esp so it kept feeding :hair:

I burned all but one bag of the Stove Chows, 14 bags worth and it was time to clean. So back to LG's and started them up with a clean stove as of Tuesday. I had done the LBT before the Stove Chows so I'll do it for the final cleaning in a few weeks.

We've had freezing rain for a few days, but it all melted this afternoon.

Cleaned it last week. I go longer between cleanings with these LaCrete Softwoods. Beautiful stuff.

Second year with them and I'm hooked on the softwood Koolaid.

I did one real cleaning back in January. Outside of that I've just been dumping the ash pan. It's pretty nasty now, but I'm hoping the next cleaning is the spring shutdown.

I clean weekly during burning season. The insert has a cookie tray ash pan. It fills up fast and effects airflow to the burnpot.

Since things have warmed up lately, I've been able to just empty the ashpan and gone longer than a week between cleanings.

Cleaned the furnace twice this year.. And have used it 90% of the season because the Enerzone still has a groaning noise. So for the first time, I have been using the On/Off function (Fuel mizer)

But it's been about 8 weeks or so? The pot self cleans. I've dumped the ash pan a couple times since then. But that is it.

January something was the last time I cleaned the exchange tubes and used compressed air to clean everything really good. I've now gone to yearly vent cleaning. Even at 3 tons a year, the furnace doesn't get much build up with the 4" vent.

Have I said I love my Fahrenheit Endurance!

Yes , but a little different shape and the Accentra's flame guide is flat no curve to it like the p43.

Let's put it this way, I put in a bag of Cubex and there is no issue with a nearly overflowing pot. So glad that HD delivered the TG instead of the Chows I thought I would get (not!). Still, I think you are correct and cleaning the igniter area can do nothing but help. Gonna be a nice day, and we've had rain the last couple of days, so great conditions to clean the stoves and dump ashes.

I was thinking the same thing as you Sub, then I went and looked at my P43, compared to the P61. I think they are the same thickness, but with the different shapes (P43 is deeper but not as wide) , there is an optical illusion that the P43 metal is thicker. The P43 is 1/8". Will have to measure the P61 later as it is burning right now :fire:.

I clean under mine every 2-3 weeks. Other wise the stove doesn't light in what I think is the appropriate amount of time. It's amazing how much comes out some weeks.

Cleaned both stoves today. The P43 definitely could have gone a couple more weeks, but I like to do them at the same time.

The P61 was nasty, filthy and the ash pan was nearly full. I will avoid those TG's at all costs in the future. No more gambling with HD, since they deliver what they want, not what I want.

Anyway, did get a lot of crud out from the igniter area. and maybe TG's just take more spark than the Cubex to get going. Anyway, will find out in a couple of days, once the Cubex have run out of the hopper.
