60-80', leaning poles, right next to power lines. Made for an interesting morning today. Got them all done without a hitch, did 6 of them today. Have to go back and do 12 more at the same site, the hard ones are all out of the way. And we got trees for BOTH the guys neighbors to do, after they watched us take these ones down. I'm sorry I haven't been posting much lately been INSANELY busy. That's my buddy Joe up in the tree, he's getting pretty good climbing! Started bright and early despite threatening skies....Joe is still learning different techniques, he wanted to go up the tree and try some rigging (we rigged the branches and tops out of this 65' ash, it was in close proximity to the lines as well as the house). He did a great job and has learned a lot. Getting prepped to take some limbs off on the way up... Rigging the tops.... Tops out, time to "chunk-n-dunk" (otherwise know as snap cutting, lol) the trunk in 4' sections on the way back down....
Posting these pics at nearly 11 pm? Now I'll have nightmares! A little vertigo hits me every time I see you(or your guys) up there Scotty Overkill Nice work, sir!
Nice work. Until a person has been up that high on spurs I don't think the difficulty or exhaustive nature of that kind of work can be appreciated. It's been almost 1 year since I fell and so far have only worked up about 20 feet. Hardest work I've ever done. Hats off to you and your crew. Stay safe.
It might be just another day at the office for you guys but it is still impressive. Wearing those tree gafs and climbing up a tree that tall is not for the person with vertigo that is for sure. Not to mention the amount of sway that is up that high when the tree is getting much smaller in diameter. Some cool pics.
Now I'm might be all washed up, but I'm thinking you've done this before Scotty Overkill Nice job as usual buddy!
Yep, good equipment and a large set of man marbles are required for those jobs........well done Scotty!...........
