I was a big Stihl fanboy.. Had about every single new Stihl made.. Had all of them ported.. Most Mtronic saws.. Some were not, most were ...

After starting off with all Husq saws about 5 years ago? It finally came full circle.

Just got this Husqvarna 365 Special (closed port) for about $300 off of eBay.

Add in my ECsaws 390xp and 372xp... Super fast saws..

And the two 346's I traded off (I will have another 346xp in the next month!)

Stihl makes a great saw.. I doubt anyone can deny that. But after 5 years of buying, running, and using most every model out there?

I am digging orange saws again.. :D

Tomorrow I'm gonna take the 365 out and make several cuts in the 10" Cant. Then I'm gonna give it a healthy Muff mod and retune it.

    Then I'll time it again..

So I'll show the difference between an all stock saw. To a muff mod saw.

This has been a huge debate as to what percentage can be gained.

I've never really done the times myself, but 10% is a number that has been thrown out there.

Nice buy! When ported, they have to be the best 4 cube out there.

365s are fun. I have 3 of them counting the 2165 right now.

That's a sweet look'n 365s Dex...............I never got too crazy with Stihl, mostly vintage ones several years ago and currantly only own one, a MS440 that was ported by Stumpy five or six years ago, it still runs excellent, I've also sold off alot of my huskys, but kept a few classics just because.......:)........Oh, and don't forget that there's other orange saws out there as well!! 182167014_echo-cs-510-chainsaw.jpg

That was a pretty decent price you got on that saw. Very nice.

I agree. That's a great price for a 365 Special in that condition. I have one that I got on trade, but I haven't even really tried it out yet.

I think 10% is an easy gain on a homeowner saw. I bet there closer to 20-30% on homeowner saws. Pro saws might be 10% or so. I noticed a new port in my 372 didn't really make any difference. But on my 390 and the earthquakes which I timeD it's closer to that 30% mark.

We seen what a nice ported 365 can do at Erics!! Man that saw was fast!! J.Walker has a mean 365!!

I just fueled it up and ran it for a bit. But the wife wants to go to Olive Garden. So maybe this evening or tomorrow I'll get around to the muff mod before and after times..

Dex that 365 Special you bought looks great!

There is some good reading about the fake ones posted by Spike over there on **.
That thread saved me by knowing what the serial number was...... when I went to look at a 365 on CL, that was a fake.
I bought my 365Special new to racing in the 4cube stock appearing class. Eric did such a great job on that motor.

There are some more 365's in my small collection of saws too!

Do all the fakes have the same serial number?

Have a link to the AS?

Link to these fake saws? Are they on CL or ebay? I'm interested to read more.

Dang nice looking saw Kenis, 365 is one of the greats.

I love my Stihls, and cut a lot of wood with them. But when it comes to play, ya just cant go wrong with 346's, 365's, 372's, 385/390's, and I think 395's are a blast too.
