Can't say I've ever seen my stove that dirty. Been 3 weeks for me. Plan on doing it tomorrow. Is that a steel plate behind the burn pot?

Same here. Last major cleaning was two weeks ago, last 2 minute cleaning was this morning after it shut down, before I left for work.

Few weeks ago when I bought that air tank. Should make the end of the burning season at this point without a major clean.

Remind me, did you use the LBT and an air compressor at the same time?

Is that like 1 big thick brick? I have 3 that go across the back of the stove. That looks like just 1.

And for the record as filthy as this stove is it's still pumping out the heat no issues :dex: , I know it would be more efficient if it was clean :( peace of mind knowing that you can abuse the stove and it will still perform well. Harman

Took the tee cleanout cover off in jan. Usually do that 2 times a season. Bang on the pipe to get a bunch more ash off then put cover back on.
Side baffles removed every 2 weeks. A bit of brushing at the top cavities above the baffles.
The occasional vac in the section behindthe firebox to the combustion blower.
Then the daily or 2 quick cleanout with the vac.
For some reason, my combustion blower does not hold much on it. How I know?
I took it out for the first time last year (stove istalled around 1997) and there was little on it. Guess hardwood makes a difference?
    Never lbt it either.
The tee is where i get the buildup and the flame tells me its time.
I do stick the small vac hose in the exhaust and get some out of the combustion blower area.
    And I burn 2 to 3 tons a year.

(psst. Dont tell the clean clean clean extremists on that other site)

    (Sorry for the book)

    YESTERDAY :D
I mucked and sucked the little Whit yesterday afternoon with a quicky window wash too..

Ran the little long handled bottle brush up its casting orifice and then leafered it until the air stream was clean.

This stove has a very small ash pan area and with the shells it fills quickly.
Weekly or even biweekly is needed to keep thing working well.

Running the leafer at full speed really gets the draft fan screaming.

Ahhh yess, a clean stove is a happy stove.

Even with a good cleaning, the windows will show a dusting of a tan ash after just an overnight run.

I have cleaned the air wash slots and all and it seems to be the way it works.

The other piccy was taken a while back just prior to cleaning, note the buildup of crap on the windows
