Thanks, I was hoping they were Natures own vs Natures choice. From what I have been able to gather they are comparable to Firesides from HD. I had very good luck with those. I wanted to go out and take a look, but fever and chills are keeping me inside. Any time I think about doing something, another nap wins out.
Save, there was a little discussion about this recently. Turns out those Nature's Own are chows, not firesides. At least the ones folks down this way received are chows.
Thanks, I am glad you were able to get in on the sale. Looks like the hunt is over for us. All in all, a very good season. I think this is by far the best most of us piggies have scored in years.
From wood Pellet Reviews.com "Another myster pellet from Premier Pellet out of Canada. ( not to be confused with Premium Pellet of BC) So far, Fireside Ultra, Stove Chow, and Nature's Own Wood Pellets are all manufactured by "Premier Pellet" Natures Own Wood Pellets A little further digging reveals that Premier Pellets out of Canada are "Energex" Full circle back to the pellet I started out with that my Napoleon hated. Had I owned the Harman then, I doubt it would have been an issue. jtakeman, Do I have this wright? I can be off track when I don't intend to be.
You are correct savemoney. Natures own is a Premier pellet which is the spin off of Energex. The natures own I purchased are made in the PA plant. So they are very similar to the Stove Chows IMHO. DO fine in my heap. Decent heat, average ash. No clinkers that I can see. I'm happy I scored them. Seem to have less ash than the FSU I got at HD and for the dime($1.99) I won't complain one tinny bit!!
Should say made in USA in the lower left corner on the back of the bag. If you see they are made in CA then they are the same as FSU. But everyone I have chatted with have USA made. Let us know what ya think of them?
My son brought in a bag tonight. He already has three tons moved into the garage after a full days work. My bags are marked "product of Canada" The premier Pellet Corporation Montreal, Quebec .
Wondering if they bag firesides in NO bags for some areas and chows in NO bags for others areas. Save, can you post a picture of the back of the bag like this one? This is the bag IHP got and its chows inside. Note the Made In America beneath the Montreal Quebec address line. http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/attachments/imag1409-jpg.87224/
Me thinx you just might have done did it. Stopping for a stash fill on the way home. White smoothies and some misc. full strength's to have with dinner........... I'll sample some when I getz home to be sure they meet standards.
Hi Savemoney, If it helps you to feel a little better in getting over the flu, I can tell you with high certainty that Lowe's Nature's Own is exactly the same as Howe Depot Fireside Ultra. Both are Energex Canada, a 60% softwood blend, both manufactured in the same mill The Nature's Own bags will state Product of Canada. Home Depot Stow Chow is a 100% hardwood manufactured in the Energex PA mill made up of Appalachian hardwoods. The Stow Chow bags will state Product of USA. The Energex salespeople have told me this. A pretty reliable source. Plus there are many threads on the subject of the Energex product line. One member has posted photos of pellets bags from trade shows. The Energex product line is well-liked.
Appears some Natures Own bags have chows in them and others have firesides in them. The ones down this way (so far CT and PA confirmed) are chows. Must be sourced from the PA mill. My guess is the farther north you go, the more likely you are to get them with FSUs from the Canada mill. I would like to see a UPC from both bags so we can record them in JTs master list. Curious if the bag UPCs are different or not...
3 Tons for my Brother, 2 Greene supreme, and 1 other, forgot the name, but they are the rebagged currans out of New York. Test fire and the Harman burns them fine.
