As expected, they change the forecast about 3 times per day. They've really cut down on the amount though. From a low of 1-3" and the high point 6" or more.

Here too. One model showed us getting 22" of snow. Others, just rain. Who knows?

    We'll find out Wednesday/ Thursday.

I watched the weather channel around 5:00 and they said portions of the L.P.will be in the 12"-18" range for snow!!

    How do you like that?

Yeah the weather channel is freaking out.

    We'll see what really happens.

They're calling for 2-4 inches of snow with about .50 inches of rain on Thursday.

Worst part would be if the rain freezes before turning to snow.

Most bets are off for most of the LP. Saginaw is now down to forecasting 4" and south of there and even SW of there basically only rain.

This white stuff sucks. I shoveled the walk to the garage and then went up front to do some of the walks. By the time I got to the back again the walk was white already. 10 minutes. The worst part is I can hear snowmobiles riding. Why on earth would you ride on thawed ground

    I'd ride too. Big kids.

Sleds are expensive toys. Imagine if you dropped 12k on one this year and barely, if you even got to use your sled this season?

That is the problem with Minnesota. Our trails don't close til April 1 and clubs don't actively shut them down per conditions. That still wouldn't stop people from riding the ditches

We'd read about big snows in CO and some other areas. We originally were forecast to get a big one but not so. Although it did look like it would be for a time today. We had to go to Lansing this morning. On the way home it started to rain lightly there in Lansing and for some distance north. It petered out but started again before we got home a bit after noon. About 8-10 miles from home the snow started mixing in. Not long after we got home the ground was white again. After a couple hours I could hardly believe what I was seeing. It looked like it was snowing snowballs. Huge flakes. But it changed over to some drizzle before dark and most of it melted as it came or shortly after. We have less than 2" left.

Heidi, that has to be rough with your dad. It is hard to imagine 2' of snow out there with so much open land. Has to be a mess.

Thanks Dennis, he is actually in Colorado (3 hours away) but I cannot help but worry. Last time they were walloped he could not get his snowblower started. I left a message to see if he could call a neighbor to start it for him but have not heard back. Parents are delicate.

It will not help for this storm but I will get the model of his snowblower and get a new spark plug delivered to him. Anything else I should send?

Yes. Send him some sunshine and warm air! Don't forget, fathers need lots of love too. As for the snowblower, it is always difficult to tell without being there with the machine.

Started snowing here about an hour ago and we already have an inch on the ground.
