I personally can't think of a better blend-ash may be too hot for straight shoulder wood but that's what windows are for...open them...Together, it doesn't get much better...as I mentioned on another thread, I'm letting my oak, locust and hickory season til next year though much of it is ready, that being said, I used beech through our significant yet short cold snaps this year and never suffered. Ash and Beech are a wonderful combination, burn the two together and see...

I need to get a couple :ithappened:(didn't have the pic machine at the time) , but I got most of that trailer load stacked today.
I used the pallets from the door/window delivery. One was 4'X8', and the other about 3'X4'. I could easily get 3 rows deep on there, but I think I'll just do two.

papadave , you've never burned beech yet? It's high on btu's, burns hot and long.
You'll be very happy with beech when you do burn it.

The cold regular dew is great when you are done processing wood. I have found that a cold Redd's wicked Apple really hits the spot too.

I'll be there soon. I've been cutting and splitting a lot of beech recently, and I'll be on the beach in about 2 weeks.

Right on there! I nearly blew steam out my ears when I found a mouse and her baby nesting under the hood of my mid-life crisis BMW. :hair: Fortunately, just chewed up a little of the sound insulation and nothing more vital.

No, Florida. We ditched the Mexico plans as spring break prices made travel stupid $. Next year we are hitting up Mexico again, in February.

I've got a Honda motor on my splitter, pulls as smooth as butter. Started after a couple pulls from sitting all winter with the gas drained, then changed the oil after I got it warm. Really love the Honda engine, pulls like there is no compression.
