Well it was an interesting week not, we got a call from the sewing machine folks Tuesday morning, so we head to Sanford picked up the machine (computerized not fun to carry machine, so I had to go to act as fork lift) got the machine back home and the boss started to use it and up until yesterday everything was fine, the machine started doing what it was before it was fixed. The boss is going to get a fixed appointment to get it fixed so we only have to make one trip. They didn't get the adjustment system for tension set so there was enough adjustment for heavier cloth.

On the Gateway mess while the 6300 is worlds better than the 3700 it still has issues. TWC still doesn't have a clue.

Managed to go junk store shopping and picked up more cheap Dvds, and I found more audio files that the boss likes a lot. Got to clean up a lot of stuff before I dare to load them up to the 6300. The engineers at Netgear are getting a lesson from an old timer who hates crap software.

Got some old hardware and accessories sorted into keep and heave piles. Made one run to the transfer station, need to do a couple more.

The chicken egg production schedule has increased. There have been a couple of deer on the lot.

One more bag plus what is still in hopper will make it 35 bags for the year.

Been slacking in the brewing department.

I short a slow and useless week.

    Ahhhh.

Set up a lap top to interface with the work stuff and and then build a good desk top to run a fresh copy of Zorin OS 9 Ultimate, and you would be totally set.

I am still running Zorin OS 7 Ultimate and its great.

They are already up to OS 11, but the 9 is a long term support version.

The Zorin OS looks and feels just like Win 7 (Set the look changer to your preference)

The only real outward difference is the BIG "Z" down in the lower left corner instead of the MS banner button

My main accomplishment today was playing in the poison ivy/blackberry brambles/Chinese bittersweet in the front yard. Those along with several lilacs, 5 or 6 old stumps, several scrub trees and a rock wall occupy a 30' x 6' section. Figured I needed to hack the junk down (not the lilacs or some of the larger trees) before they start greening up. The canes/suckers/saplings were trying to take over the world and I need to get a handle on it this year.

While out there hacking, cutting and stacking the crud I found several large rotted branches and half a sheet of disintegrating plywood underneath all the leaves and weeds. Started pulling up runners and roots too, but after 3 hours decided my back needed a rest. Don't have a bad back, and don't need to develop one, so try to be sensible when I have that much stooping to do.

Will be fighting this battle for a while as poison ivy is on 3 sides of my yard and blackberries do not give up easily. Not sure about the bittersweet, but it got its reputation as an invasive for a reason, so I figure it will put up a fight too. I'll be using a bit of poison, but a lot of pellet bags will be used to cover that area to smother stuff out.

Hoping next summer (2017) or the summer after I'll be confident that section can be planted and I'll put up some screening shrubs - and maybe some old English roses too.

Spent part of the day trying to sniff out some good pellets at Lowes. Struck out.

But I did get some real maple syrup right from the sugar shacks-Maple Weekend in NH. 2 half gallons that will get me through the next year.

Wasn't able to do what I wanted, No sun and rather chilly. Had the stove idling all day and eat up some cheap pellets. Got a good feel for the GS's. For $2 bucks they burn really nice!! :D

Took a geezer nap seemed to be the most exciting thing for the day!! Next was some reel tinkering. Got to get stuff ready for the season!! Fixed the hinge on the cabinet door and the loose handle on the cupboard draw.... I'm bushed!!

I went by the lake down the street about 11:00 Am this morning. It was about 25 or so degrees out. There were 2 boats out there trolling. :shiver: Youngest son told me there were 4 out there at 9:00 AM.:shiver::shiver: The fish must be biting if they're staying out there in those temps.

Went to Home Depot and got some small wood pieces to help finish up a new bathtub install I started over a year ago.

Then got the bug for an 18 volt sabre saw.

Already have several Ryobi one + tools so another tool will just help fill the tool box.

Also have a few Ridgid 18 volt tools.

Never ever stop at the Depot and forget to cruise through the tool crib.

It's like forgetting to stop off at Harbor Freight, almost a sin, almost.

By the time I die I will have quite a collection of tools.

    I need more roll away's

Love the sunshine of the past couple days. Did have a family get together that went really well. We had a cookout. It was cold, but it still was a lot of fun.
The dogs really enjoyed the kids and all the attention.
I was hoping the Monday storm would go out to sea. The weather forecast are all over the place.
    Have a good week!

Horses were getting Spring fever today. Running and bucking in the barnyard. Too wet to let them out back yet. So we took some time with them playing and brushing them out. The area outside their stalls won't defrost for some weeks. The snow and ice intermingled with the special brown fertilizer won't thaw as quickly.

We also worked in the greenhouse. The strawberries we started are doing great, nice to see so much green! We'll probably transplant them next weekend into their growing troughs. Had to open the doors and vents, as it was 92* even though it was 35* outside. First time all winter the wifey complained about if being too hot! Anyway, we also planted some greens, lettuce, beets, and carrots for our use. Tomorrow I'll plant a few flats of micro greens. I have to see the dentist tomorrow, oh joy! :dremel:

Trout like the cold water and move shallow. I bet they were doing well. Some of the best trout fishing up north was right after ice out. Specially Lake trout. Miss fishin those!!

I bet they froze a bit if they didn't have good gear on!! :shiver:

Hard to tell what they were catching. The lake is deep, over 100 ft. in places. It has Lake trout (know as Togue up here), Brookies, Landlocked Salmon and Browns as well as assorted junk fish.

Ambient, do you know of any reasonable mail order delivery for produce/micro greens?

I went to Fish and Game and got a free permanent fishing licence. (vet's disability) Now if I can figure how to get in and out of a boat. I just might have fun fishing from shore or off a bridge etc. I want to fish with my grandson. He is ok with worms and a bopper!

There seemed to be quite a difference between the local channel and some of the more national programs. Was snowing at my place shortly before 4 - and I live in the area that they were saying has a good chance not to see any. I couldn't even see the lines on the roads by the time I left for work at 4:40. Hoping that it shut down pretty quick after that since I have to work tonight and for a short shift Tuesday evening so won't have a chance to clean the driveway any until late Tuesday evening. and yes, I know they are forecasting 40's - but guaranteed that won't be at my place so not expecting melting - or at least if any occurs it will all turn to a nice layer of ice.

Forecast here is still saying 1-3". Plow has gone by twice and there is 3-4" out there already. I think the difference is the cold that is making it fluffier than predicted.

I went to bed at 10PM and the moon was out with clear skies........

Grow them yourself? It would be a year round daily routine, much like giving attention to a pellet stove. The culinary benefits would be enormous!

    Microgreen nutrition benefits

    How to do it yourself

One of many options for suppliers: small self contained systems

Grow them hydroponically with conventional nutrients is easier, or grow them organically. Organically can be done but it is challenging. Organic nutrients don't break down fast enough and the chemistry gets confusing quickly.

It isn't hard, it just is a commitment to a certain lifestyle and that lifestyle brings rewards.
