Just a little over a month to go now. We need a count!

April 23 is not far away now and we would really like to get a close count on how many to expect at the Get-Together. We'd like to know too if anyone is bringing guests, wives, children, monsters, etc. This will give us a better way to plan on eating and drinking items.

Please send a private conversation letting us know how many are planning on attending. After we get some names I may start a new conversation with more information for those planning on attending.

In addition, how many might be bringing an RV or tent or whatever for staying overnight or the weekend. We have plenty of room for parking but will be limited on electric. However, I don't think much electric will be needed.

I did check on the one local motel which is about 7 miles from us and they have some good rates. I'll be posting more on this but the rates range from $50-$60-$110-$120. The top two have jacuzzis. If interested, they even have a honeymoon suite. As far as I know, no local campgrounds will be open.

At present we are planning on setting up a tent, probably 20 x 20 or maybe 15 x 20 or thereabouts just in case we might have some showers but we'll know better as the time nears. Near mid-day and then later we are planning on having some tables and chairs set up on the barn which is right beside the house and that is where the eating will be done. If some want to use it for sleeping that is okay too. If any pass out, we could just drag them inside too.



We do have one neighbor who wishes to have 5 or 6 trees cut. That won't take long and is only 1/4 mile from us. This particular couple will prove to be very helpful on preparing food. I know she is planning on some salads and some baking along with my wife but they would gladly accept any other help if someone wants to bring something for eats or drinks.

I do plan on buying some Faygo (this went over great down at Dexter Day's) and probably some cokes or whatever. We should have plenty of good water to drink and hope to even have a new well in before the GTG. Not sure if anyone would like something like gatorade? Naturally for the evening, we suggest to bring your favorite beverages and we'll probably have a fire going into the night.

We don't have a lot of space for running atv's but do have some. We'll be a little bit limited perhaps because of turkey season. Usually there is no problem with riding them on the roads around here and we are on gravel road. If we go onto neighboring properties then we simply ask to respect the property.

All in all, we plan on having a great time at this gtg and we can hardly wait to meet with many of you that we have not yet met.

 

May have to cancel the gtg folks. I started this thread over 24 hours ago and not one post to it and only one conversation started. 96 looks but no answers. Best I can say right now is to stay tuned. We find it amazing that at one point we counted over 30 people planning on attending but now...
