10 Bay..... I wish I had a 10 "bay" garage full of pellets stacked to the rafters and in the rafters.
Ok, but I have to tell you, any number of bays will quickly fill up with must haves and you still end up parking the car in the yard! I've purged my garage several times and somehow it still fills back up.
Prolly why the wife won't let me have one! She knows it will be filled with toys. I've changed my wish to already have it full of pellets just for that reason. I prolly would never fill it on my own!
A bud gets 10 in a single bay single level. With room to move around. Quick math would say 20(double stacked) x 10 bays, So maybe like 200 tons. About 50 years worth!! That might be a bit much. Unless I invite lots of friends!!
How many can ya haul in a day, Might wanna call in tomorrow. Haulin pellets in the snow isn't advised, But man you'd have plenty a traction on the return trip! Call any pellet burner ya know its the deal of the century!!
Unless drfaustus? (Didnt feel like looking for correct spellingn sorry) packs it in and add maybe another 50 ? Iirc, is southern ct gas is about 1.2 per and with my 95% fha system, the fuel comparisons say less than 150 per ton and pellets beat gas. Man, i wish i had more room. (Cant trust it outside. Some of you may find me)
Yes, GAs is CRAZY cheap. I have gas service. Burned under a ton this year. BUt I've got almost no pellet space left. Getting my brother loaded for next season though. He has oil.
Probly won't get as much early, as in the past, because hopefully it won't be a problem getting stuff. Last year we got a lot, early, we just told the suppliers to keep them coming, because of the year before's difficulties. So we would get 2 sometimes 3 loads a week during late spring early summer.. right up 'till fall. It's so weird. EVERY season is different. It really is a guessing game for smaller dealers. I'm sure the other guys here may agree. We deal with great people, they try to give us heads up on what is going on. But right now, they are scratching their heads a lot more than us. I would not want their jobs, at all. We have never been out... But close! I still think they will have a lot, but the prices will go back to profit making levels. They sold a crap load at $249-259 this year. And the reality is, when you see all of these $99 specials, a lot of them only had to unload a truckload or so... 25-35 tons. Compared to their overall sales, that was peanuts. I don't think you will see sub $199 pricing. But I have no clear shot on that. Not really.. It's hard to say. Our "spring" isn't usually too busy. We get mostly baggers, filling in, occasional tonnage. We started pushing last year mid April to help relieve the delivery madness in the fall. Henry is a one man delivery operation, and it's overwhelming late summer into all of the fall. We may offer some specials, and hopefully we can, to encourage the early buy. Truth is, buying good brand names, there really is not a lot of wiggle room. The difference between doing okay, and not worth it, is so small........ But I will say this. We have a Tractor Supply, Home Depot, and Lowes, all within spitting distance. The majority of our customers, seriously, don't care. They come here. Most say, they just like this stuff better. Just yesterday, a new guy came over and wanted 10 bags of some good stuff. He said he was just not happy with what he burned. All in all... This year actually surpassed last year! We know that many will have leftover product, and some, maybe did go for the bailouts.. so we don't anticipate next year to be as good. But we are reasonably confident, that our regulars will still be with us. Dan
Thats not true, I have seen a lot with more than 100 tons and trucks are still moving them from others stores. This is both HD and Lowes. The Lowes near me has 200 plus tons on their lot and the trucks leaving(out to customers) isn't keeping up to the trucks dropping more off(adding to inventory)!! Small stores may only have limited amounts but its likely they have off loaded to a storage area for safe keeping. Next time I'm down there I'll snap some shots of just the back lot which is only half the storage. The inside lot under cover is off limits but easily 100+ tons last I saw.
Concord Lowe's shows as out of $1.99 pellets, Bedford still has some, as does Epping and Gilford. Green Team is still available at all Lowes, except for Concord - at $6.98
I guess I have to be a lot more careful on how I write things, so that I am not taken so literally. ALL of the Lowes within an hour's ride of ME, not YOU, had less than a thousand bags .. So to ME, that is a lot. In fact, it's ALL. But I said a 'lot', so as not to imply, every Lowe's on the planet. Dan
I though writing was literal?? Its the interpreting where the issue was. Common in forums. Its how ya wrote it originally(or how I read it??). Stick local in it next time. Otherwise some may assume the general all implied. Alot many of the Lowes stores or All the lowes stores, Compared to a lot of my local Lowe's store's........... Don't be so grumpy, Its just a debate! Not like I tried to steal you lolly pop or something!! What the Lowe's "in my area"(local stores) are doing is using 1 store as the mother ship and the others with less storage as satellite locations. Usually it can be found if you play the zip code roulette deal. Keep plunking zips and see which has the big numbers. I bet you find one and its numbers will cause googly eyes!! Mine was easy to find it's the nearest store.
