Decided what the heck since we have a couple of coldish nights coming up and threw a bag of Cubex in the P61a (will hit tomorrow sometime). Also have one on deck for the P43. The P43 will actually tell me more since I have a thermometer on it. Will report back.

I get a gateway reboot and if I don't get the hd removed from the USB port it keeps rebooting. Don't get much done online when that happens.

Well, I'm sure it does take a few ions to reboot, which takes eons to accomplish (did I save myself? - or more importantly, my stash :hair:)

Did you have any pellet sales out your way to get in on? Everyone out East is drunk on excitement from saving @259/ton pellets, now selling for $100/ton. I never bought so early! I think the earliest I did was May 2008 and I payed about $280/ton.

Hi Larry:) Don't laugh too hard, we do not have spring sales here. 2 woodstove dealers and a walmart and an Ace hardware. The dealers bring in pellets in late summer for a small discount for month or so, then normal price as of Sept 1 or Sept 30 (forgot which). (I am not a fan of Ace pellets, and I heard the Walmart Penningtons were not very good). My main challenge is hiring someone to get them to my home, nobody delivers....... I had a great handyman with a commercial flatbed truck, but Dear Husband hired him for a couple hotshot deliveries to/from Colorado (one day fast thing) and he now knows there is alot more money in that, so he has been too busy to help me now. Oh well, I am happy for him though.

We like the game of getting the best deal. I can see that for you it is the issue of getting any deal. That is no fun. Living life in an isolated area has a lot of trade offs.
Here, I drive down my short road and can be isolated as if I were a hundred miles down a road. But my vista is limited. At least I don't look at other houses when I am outside, and being the last on a dead end means no traffic.
Except for family, I really enjoy my solitude.

One of my favorite things is to skip a day of work and hit the lake with my boy. Usually have the whole lake to ourselves. Just nature, fish and father son chitchat. Priceless!!

All this computer stuff can drive one goofy.

About 3 years ago I had had enough of Ma micro, the constant need to pay "protection money" for virus protection, the ever present clashes of some important software with the antivirus programs, and then having to deal with other crashes and stuff that were just annoying.

I got into computers when WIN 3.1 was the thing.

When we built the new house here at the ranch and got settled be got a copy of Win 95 and then AOL Dialup

So basically learned to do "puter things" win Ma Micro.

    Back to 3 years ago.

Fed up with Trojans, Virus's, crashes, and having to sit on the phone and speak to someone I could not understand and try to get permission to reinstall my OS, ONLY to be told that I had a illegal copy.

Hmmmm, I bought it at Fry's and registered it promptly, so WTF

Finally get satisfaction and get things running again.

Fast forward to 2013 and more BS

Decided to bolt the camp and try a variation of LINUX.

Did a lot of surfing and reading about the various "distros" of Linux and chose ZORIN

This version is great for Ma Micro users looking to get rehab and get off the MS JUNK.

Zorin is a variation of UBUNTU but has a look changer to allow the end user to get the look and feel of MAC OSX, WIN7, and several other GUI'S

The end result is a really solid OS that runs well and is pretty much virus proof.

That said, no OS is totally virus proof, but someone has to write the crap and most viruses aimed at Micro are written on either a MAC OR LINUX BOX and those churning out these streams of garbage don't want it coming home.

Another plus is that the Linux system automatically stops any changes to the system unless the operator gives "Root privilege" (Password"

(Surfing, and a box pops up "enter password" NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WAY.)

I have been running Zorin OS premium version for 3 years and no issues.

The complete OS premium version can be had for little $$$ and you can load it as many times as you like.

No antivirus needed, use Thunderbird mail client, use common browsers (I like Chrome but the Fox is OK too)

When I flip the switch on the box in the early AM to do things, IT BETTER WORK .

    Great stuff, try it

I want to, But many of the programs I need are writen for MS based PC's and haven't found options that can chat from home to the work software paks. We use Facilworks and SAP at work(to name a few). Coggz is the latest addition for the maintenance software. My home stuff must be compatible. And it also has to network to the work servers at times.

My latest machine that I built is running win 7 and its doing OK... But have thought about a MAC OS. MAC software is a bit $$ and not as easily found. So I was turned off a bit. It still might be an option as I haven't totally written it out. Still need to do more researching on what is best for my needs.

I need to do some research on a strong image editing software pack. A video editing and conversion pack as well. Office pack isn't as picky for me I can do that at work and its mostly work related anyway. But might need at least a word compatible program and likely an excell as well. Once I find info I might just as well leave the MS chains behind!!

Guess I'm a bit lazy and MS stuff is so easy to get a hold of. And its what I'm used to using. Changin the guard is almost like getting to an edge of a cliff. Scary for some!!
