Never look back at a deal.
When you buy something at a price you think was really good.
It was...... And you were happy to get it..
This one is better. But the other was good too....
Much better than $259 either way...

I got mine from two different Lowes. 2/26 for the first two tons at $199 each. That store has not marked down the pellets to match the Lowes in Brunswick. Anyway, I'm not upset a bit. Happy folks spread the word and happy that we had so many who were able to get the price. It helps the stores and it helps us. I wish my MWP were an option, but I'll take whatever I can get at that price.

If TSC matches Lowes, I'll grab some of them MWP they have in heaps. Won't be much, But at least I can say I spread it to all my locals.

Was hoping to spread some love to the pellet houses. But with the insane prices the boxes have. I gotta think of us first. Sure wouldn't mine throwing BT a bone though.

Maybe in the fall after I burn off some of these.......... I gotta feelin the fall price might be interesting!!

I can't blame anyone for cashing in on those prices...
How can you beat a hundred bucks.. You'd be foolish if you could, but didn't..

Crystal ball cracked, Dart board fell off the wall and the coin rolled under the fridge. No luck today!!

    :emb:

My feelin comes from previous experience's from a long way back. ;) Sad part was the next season had really slim pickings and I didn't prepare for it. Had a tough time findin fuel for a good part of the season. Never will let that happen again.

Does anyone know what the supplies, availability, or pricing will be in the fall?

My prediction is supplies and availability(same thing really) at the pellet house will be a non issue! We still will see big freakin tall stacks and prices lower than we see know. Wanna bet?? ;)

I think for that to happen the mills will have to selling at some pretty low prices. The BB's aren't going to forget this year for a while.

I should have been more specific, Meant Pellet houses.

Boxes are tryin to flush em now. Doubt they order big quanities in the fall from the mills. Mills are gonna be hurting. Box flush will hurt spring dealer buys big time and oil is still so low you won't see many converting back to pellets just yet. Only us die hards are playin the pellet game. Tank fillers are still waiting to see what happens. Come fall we might see a better deal than whats the spring buy has to offer.

Oops ya made me thinx to hard and system crashed/rebooted. I need a brew while I wait for memory to be restored!!

2008 wasn't any fun. I was alright because I bought 6 tons in the spring before the sh**t hit the fan. Then two years ago in the spring, folks were scrounging. That is a sick feeling. No need of it. But lets be real about this. The whole thing is an off shoot of oil prices. Oil went down, and has stayed down for a year. The pressures of that finally rippled out and these pellet prices are a direct outcome.

I'm going even farther back Larry. 2001 to be exact and it was worser than 2008. Just comparing similar circumstances!! Although this is far more extreme.

I just gotta hunch the box deal screwed the spring pellet house deal up enough that they will carry them through fall. If oil stays low they won't have much of a choice but to drop them to at least get some to move. Hard to stay a float if your stuff is just sitting in place.

I could be wrong, Have been before! Just flapping my keyboards buttons(aka lips!!).......

Edit, I expect the pellet house guys to chime in and tell me how wrong I am. But hey they were the ones that said I was wrong at the beginning of this(or was that last season)!! I had fun serving up some crow, I'll eat mine if need be!! ;)

I would have printed another local stores prices. Luckily my store was posted online for $1.99/bag. The yard guy didn't even know it. Told him to look online. He hit the net with his phone and said "WTH, Nobody told me"!! I even had a print out in the car JIC!!

If they were still at $3.98 I would have at least tried doing a store that was close to them and had the same deal. Showed em a print out or pull it up on your/their phone!! They may have price matched the other store?

    Not exactly what I meant.
I was thinking that 'supplies' (meaning mills/distributors) would probly have plenty.
But 'availability' to consumers might be tougher, if the retailers do not buy.. or buy as much..
For us here, if there is a bazillion out west, but there are a significant number of retailers
no longer carrying, OR, carrying much less, consumers may have to look around.
It seems like many of us here, are going to be all set.
    Which is great!
But we are such a small segment of the market.
I don't think it matters who is right or who is wrong, but I think we can agree
that it could be very interesting..... I don't care if it's BBS or Joe's Clam Hut and Pellet Emporium,
purchasing is going to be cautious..
And, as I always finish up,
    that is just my opinion..
