There's no way he should have been cutting at neck level up against a chain link fence either.

I never get that close to the cut either. He should have arms more extended to give that chain brake a chance to stop the chain.

Holy crap, at first glance I thought I saw the chain kickback. I thought he got his neck with it. All kinds of bad going on there. Lucky fella

 

I can't really tell what is going on that caused the saw to come back. Can anyone tell? The video is small and blurry for me. Maybe sound would help? (saw at full revs?)

 

It would be really embarrassing to have to go around and explain how you cut your head off.

 

The idea is to never lose your head in those type of situations. Hence, quit while your a head......................

 

Its from one of those DIY Network shows where they follow the homeowner around while they do a project. He was trying to cut that stump out of the way and get rid of it. I believe that something was said about having never used a chainsaw before he started. I dont think they realize how lucky they got on this he surely could have been killed by that.

I think his face shield is what saved him.

 

Great now I don't know if I want to chainsaw any more....

 

First thing you must know and respect about a chainsaw;

It wants to kill you and it will if you let it.

 

I only cut wood to length and mostly on a sawbuck, but still try to be cautious....Looks like that guy hit the chain link fence, unreal how fast it happens...
