Yep pro quality build for considerably less than the Husky and Stihl saws in this size class. Might not be the fastest saw but it's a featherweight in the 50cc class. Plus it's got that Echo reliability going for it.

I will buy a 421 of you bring that 490 down and do some video compressions. I wonder if anyone would like to see that.

You shouldn't always stay in a mitten!

I would like to see the 421 vs 490 comparison.

If anyone with a 421 is going to the GTG that Backwoods Savage is putting on next month, I will happily bring the 490. Maybe we can get a comparison. Of course I can't guarantee the 490 won't be further modded by then.:D

I have run that stihl 241 up against a 421. They were about even with the stihl just edging out the 421. Both high quality saws. CoreyB you aren't fooling anyone your going to buy a 421 wheather I come to Iowa or not!

I'd gladly fall on that grenade for ya, but I'm betting your better half wouldn't be fooled. If ya want go ahead and tell her it was my fault. I don't mind.

And as it stands, the GTG is on 4/23. Looks like we'll be having a grand time too!

Thanks Barcroftb. We are definitely looking forward to it. I hope to get a bit more wood out before the GTG but we'll have plenty of wood left to cut. We're praying for good weather on the day of the gtg too! Hoping to set up a good sized tent in back in case of any showers and also planning a large meal for everyone. There will be some good eating and drinking for sure.

Holy ch!t I can't believe my new saw is 6 years old!
It's proven it's self and now I'm hot for a 620p. I find the 490 slow for some simple log bucking and my big old 044 has continued to get heavier and is overkill. I'll have a the 60cc slot filled with this cs620p.
