Been around long enough to know that when you have a time consuming hobby such as ours, you GOT to make some points with the wife. Us older guys have already learned this lesson so heads up young buckaroos. MAKE POINTS. I made this planter from a hollow log over the weekend. The little lady was ecstatic. Our firewood widows would appreciate it.
you mean to say I was bucking a log up, came across this rotten section and told the wife, this is a planter I made for you honey.
Yup, I've done the same thing. We've got a couple next to the flower bed in the front yard. It works well with the rest of my 'firewood-scaping' decor. That reminds me - I found one last fall in a crotch piece, where only 1 of the branches was hollowed out. Thinking it could be a plant stand/planter or an outdoor "living endtable".
Great thread! Very funny! I have a nice hollowed out shag round in front of the stacks, so this thread got me thinking about doing something with it for my wife.......... Splitting it and having her stack it is what I've come up with!
Way point worthy. Add your wives favorite flowers and you might even have enough for that new chainsaw or whatever y'all have been wanting!
I have a hollow Oak Round like that right now, thinking about putting it at the bottom around the new mailbox post.,, Might fill it up with white rocks. How long you all think it would take for it to rot out?
If I made those, Star Gazer, my wife would think I was trying to get out of trouble. Its a fine line....
The trains with flowers are pretty cool and would definitely make the most points and could be placed anywhere.
