A great day in the woods, and a impressive pile of Walnut awaiting the splitter. I've never even seen a piece of Walnut wood, never mind even picked one up. I wasn't aware how dark the wood is before even staining it.

Yes sir, NH mountain man.... Absolutely walnut is extremely beautiful as a raw wood...... You know the walnut tree puts out a certain toxin around its canopy that makes it hard for other plants and trees to grow around it in a woods....I have actually heard of people who have gotten brake outs like poison ivy when cutting walnut.....and also the walnut bark is bad for your yard or garden because of the toxin it produces....

But ya I tell ya my pile will be absolutely humongous when I get this job done as 80% of the 90 tops I am getting are black walnut.....anyway thanks for replies guys....Kyle

image.jpeg Well guys Raining all damm day here in central IN.... Well In case anyone was questioning my chainsaw and wood cutting addiction, yes I have been cutting in it all day lol.....I am actually a scrounger most of the time just lucked into the logging job, because I ihave made a good reputation around here by taking care of these guys land......am I crazy, possibly, but when I get a whole day alone I have to capitalize while I can....got 4 loads today, and these have been at my "scrounging" spots not the logging spot.... I have luckily been able to get most of the wood today by cutting and rolling, or throwing the wood to the truck which I leave parked on the country road because it's so damm muddy.... Anyway here are some picks, and yes the ol trusty f250s 4x4 is getting a work out today LMAO....

Welcome to all our new members, it's been a while since I posted on this thread.

Also let's welcome our new member blacksmith (those of you who went to the central PA GTG last weekend know him as Joe). He's my cutting partner and we finally got him to join up with us!
