Hey all! I received the flag offered by fishingpol here last week. Had a chance to get her hung today. Looks great in the shop and proud to have it - thank you fishingpol for your generosity! Cheers! 20160311_122322.jpg

I'll be out riding soon too. Need new tires and sprockets and chain. Roasted all of that on my bike last fall.

There's still a bit of salt on the roads.

I have a chain on the way right now - o-rings on mine are shot - it's a 2006 and sat in storage for a lot of years. Last time it was registered was 2007 before I bought it last April. First time switching out a chain - hoping it's not too bad and hoping the sprockets are okay - only 3k miles not it. Cheers!

You'll more than likely need the angle grinder to grind a rivet peen down. Easy enough. 3k, your sprockets should be fine.

I mean that the chain will be made with a riveted master link. More than likely, at least. Sometimes the have clip master links, but usually only after its had the factory chain off of it.

So, if it's a rivet master link, you'll have no choice but to grind the peen in order to get the chain off.

Ahhhh.....didn't know that. Thanks for the heads-up. If so, could I just grind the chain in half or use bolt cutters to get the original chain off? Cheers!

You could, but just getting the peened over edges of the rivets on the master link is much easier. ;)

I did the last one with a dremel in like 5 minutes.

Okay - would seem fast to grind the chain in half rather than grind the peened links, but never done it before - since the chain won't be used again. Thanks for the info! Cheers!

Thanks Horkn - been watching quite a few youtube vids too - my bike seems to have a bit a different tensioner mechanism from what I've seen. I'm sure I can figure it out but might ask you a question if I hit a bump! Cheers!
