I had a brittany from the late 80's that gorged herself on grasshoppers during an epidemic. Next one (star hunter, pointed, flushed, and retrieved) was mesmerized with miller moths under a summer porch light after she was too infirm to hunt. She needed help but had a blast hunting the lil tiny "birds", and she ate them too.....

The funny part about a dog with hair vs. fur is they can look completely unrecognizable after a clip.
When the GF trims just his snout & eyes his hair is powder white, I call him ghostface killer because his dark eyes look like dinner plates on his tiny face

Update on Sandy and Gizzy ... Sandy has gone from being terrified when she first got here... to snugglin up to ole Grampy and not even opening her eyes when I give her a couple pats. Totally secure. We've done more walks out on the road and she's either right on my left side or slightly pulling ahead, jumping up and down. I told my honey Sandy must spend as much energy jumping as she does walking... ;)

Giz, on the other hand, has developed a side issue. She's getting along OK with Sandy, but she's been wolfing down her food and then quickly puking it up, causing her stomach lining to inflame again, causing a repeat. This was never an issue before Sandy was here... we'd just keep Giz's bowl full and she ate when she felt like it. We're trying a new routine that is working, so far. We give Giz a Pep AC 1/2 pill an hour before her food, and then 1/4 cup of her food, wait 5 minutes, then the other 1/4 cup, morning and night. It's worked for a week and she's kept it all down. By contrast, Sandy (1/2 Giz's size) eats the same amount, wolfing it down no prob.

Thanks for the update. I am hoping eventually Giz will settle down and become more comfortable with the another pet in the house. We had a dog that only grazed on her food but when we got the second one, he would eat everything in sight so we had to go to specified feed times and amounts. It took her a while to get into the routine but she did it.

Many of you know this feeling, and it was just a matter of time, My old Buddy, Dozer (the lab) went into a massive seizure just about 0800 and never recovered. By the time my wife and I got him to the Vet he had been seizing for over 40 min.
He was not going to recover. You know the next lineā€¦. :( Thank you all for the lasting prayers and thoughts, My Daughter was at least able to leave College, drive down to say good bye at the Vets. We/I had 14+ "GREAT" years.

You all know this feeling in your gut, Thanks again for your prayers, I'm sure it gave him a few more month's with us!

Oh no, that is so painful. That being said, you did your best by him. He had a good life. Lucky dog indeed. RIP Buddy.

Sad day for sure....... but like you said, glad your daughter could get up to say goodbye. Rev. Graham replied to a little girl when her dog passed, answering her question, will my dog go to heaven?" He replied, "if it will make you happier, surely he will be there!"
