All they have between those Bratt and Benn. are small little towns. and route 9 and you don't want to drive 9 with a loaded truck or truck and trailer..
Have yet to see what is reported to be an excellent view from Hogback - rode the bike thru there 3 or 4 times; twice it was so foggy and misty I literally couldn't see the taillights of the car that I knew was in front of me (the other times I could at least see the vehicle - never have actually seen the parking lot to the side of the road). Heck, last June 28 I was taking a rest in Bennington just off of 9 and I thought the bike would blow clean over the kickstand (that was a dicey ride home with the wind, rain, cold and fog). I can imagine a few of those curves might get dicey with a loaded trailer, especially on a windy day.
Bogieb Ever ride to the top of Equinox. The views are spectacular and the mountain road is a treat. Also if you are ever out this way - Prospect Mountain has a view of the entire length of Lake George. Course those White Mountains of yours are also spectacular.
There are efforts in several states right now to allow men to use women's bathrooms. But that's a whole other topic.
No matter what decision is made, someone will still be unhappy. In this PC climate, you give up most all your privacy.
but the old man fell down.....like humpty dumpty..sad, it was an icon of the region forever. now you go there and there is a spot to stand and look past an iron cutout to see what it used to look like....kinda lame.. but the best they could do
Yeah, We bought a marble silhouette of old granite face the year before the collapse when coming home from Laconia. We had read it was in danger of perishing.
Ridden around Lake George a couple of times and that is a nice area, but don't think I've been up on Prospect Mountain. I never thought the Old Man was all that spectacular anyway - just a gimmick to pull in tourists. I much prefer the scenery that I can actually see without using binoculars (I don't see that well so maybe that's my problem). Have been hiking up above the Old Man and that was lovely.
Ive hit Mt equinox, Mt Mansfield, Mt Washington, 100 mile view of Vt from Hogback mountain ( buy fudge at the gift shop). Rt 9 is dicey in bad weather, but not horrible. I've driven it in snow with the sled trailer.
