Those are some very cool and good looking stoves above. Hmmm,,,,,,, I am awaiting a new NC-30 that I couldn't pass up the deal. I might be doing some more research on these bad boys for the future though.

Way cool and I've seen very good reviews. Neat stoves! I'm envious, I'll admit it. LOL!

I'll be in touch with you all and doing much more research on these stoves. I have to ease the wife back into the wood idea. Long story. Hence the new NC-30 for $350 bucks all said and done Durango HD $519 deal and $300 tax credit.

I've looked at these before or last year on the web but never looked close enough I guess. That and I knew the wood idea was NOT and option with the Boss Lady........Yet.

Nc-30 is a good heater from what I've heard. It's much better than the price suggests.

Let her know a lot of folks heat entirely with wood, and like me, supplement with the wood heat. I've dropped my heating bill $100 a month and that's free heat with getting wood for free.

We heat with 100% wood; would love to get AS or IS (interesting WS's site shows a basic AS cheaper than the IS), but anyways- our January power bill was $81 dollars.

I only meant to supplement my heat with wood. The IS turned out to be better than expected and it heats 90% of the time. My heating bills with natural gas are easily 100 cheaper than last year, and that's considering I had an old cast iron pre epa stove going last season.

When I say they are 100 less I mean they were as high as 198 last year, the highest this year has been 79 and that's with another person living here using hot water for showers, laundry, etc.

I have been on the 100% wood heat program for years until the fall of 2014 when I bought the P68 and last year and this I've been 100% pellets heat. I was working out of town in the winters so I had to make it easier on my wife. Plus my OWB likes a boat load of cords each season.

Now I am back around and no longer going to be out of town for work during heating seasons. SO I am working back into more wood heat but taking small steps first and getting her back on board. The more I look at these great burn times and using a lot less wood might be the answer.

Hadn't thought about it lately but we've been 100% wood heat steady since 1979 (were before that but had a short stint of oil heat in between). So that makes it 100% wood heat for the last 36+ years. No regrets except for those years of burning oil.

I was on the same boat as you 2 years ago. I installed an NC-30, while eyeing up the IS. Long story short, I now have an IS in place of and much closer to the wall (7" vs 15") in a corner install than the 30 ever was. The sides don't get near as hot because the heat lasts so much longer (slower release). I've also noticed that I get way more heat out of the lower BTU's types of wood. Just no regrets here at all. Pics were the first fire and overall corner and one on the side. Metallic blue Lighthouse theme. IMG_20160210_210655305.jpg IMG_20160210_010547321.jpg IMG_20160307_185142352.jpg

I think they are just great looking stoves. I have to get the wife's attention with the NC-30 this coming season and then I'll probably be seriously looking at the IS's. She likes the pellet stoves which is fine but now that I am around and working local instead of out of town wood will be doing some if not most of the heating again here this coming fall.

Thanks for the pictures. Good looking stove too BTW. I like the light house theme. I was looking at all the options and choices on their site and they are pretty extensive. Not sure what all I'd get and which because I have so time to deal with that.

Just curious, What kind on lead time does ordering on and getting one take? Also I see they are running a sale now. Do they usually do the sale deal each spring? Thanks

The IS is new enough that sale patterns and lead times are hard to pin down as I am not sure they have hit a "steady state." They did have an offseason sale last spring, and then the steal of the month sales. This AS intro sale seems to be the best prices I have seen. I don't know if that is from a downward trend in manufacturing costs, low energy costs, or just a one time sale.

As for lead time, with the current sale, my lead time will end up around 3-4 weeks. I get the impression that that has been highly variable in the past, so I don't know that you can plan on that in the future.
