I believe the ES bars have a wider nose than the E bars. The wide nose ES are much wider than the standard ES bars. They don't make the wide nose any more. I'll get try to get a pic of the standard vs. wide nose tomorrow.
In the pics you posted comparing the weight of the E and ES bars it looked like the ES had a wider nose. I was just originally saying that most ES bars are not a low kick back bar because they mostly have the yellow dot on them. Then MasterMech brought up the wide nose. A pic comparing the wide nose to standard would be cool.
I have one like that on the far left that I picked up on an 032. I didn't not even recognize it as a stihl bar but I saw some paint remnant and the ghost of the stihl logo on the bar. I was going to fix the saw but I am leaning toward keeping The bar and parting out the saw or selling for parts
Where do you buy forester bars for $20!! I bought a combo in medium mount stihl for $36...but I guess you figure the chain and it shipped to my house is about the same price as what you said?
Flea bay. $20 was why I bought it initially too. Needed it, stopped by the local husky dealer. Wanted $65 for a husky bar. I said "NO way". Went home and looked out of curiosity and found this one on there. Run the bar for 6 months and, was impressed enough to buy a 24 inch bar for my 385 XP when I saw one on the Bay for $36 shipped. A month ago, I wasn't sure about the vibration in the longer bar but, it hasn't given me any trouble. God Bless
Thanks for getting those pics cgraham1. It looks like the wide nose bar is straighter than the regular making the tip wider, the regular bars have more of curve.
