Didn't realize they were $300 different. What prices are you guys seeing locally for these saws?

The dolmar will gain a solid second after the rings seat good. The 562 is a great saw just like the 362. I agree not worth paying 300 for a second or 2.

I can get one for around 550 otd with a couple extra loops of chain and mix oil. Not sure what I could do on a 562. I could probably get a 362 for around 750 otd same deal on chain and mix oil. Although I wouldn't run stihl ultra in my saws. But let's not turn this into a oil showdown.:D

    Where can you find a 6100 $300 cheaper than a 562 or a 362?

Looks like list is 749 on the 562. Same as the 362. Maybe they are more where WV is from.

Locally here a 362 is $790 before tax, only one husky "dealer" would even order the 562 but said they wouldn't be able to work on it because they would not be ordering any of the software needed. They where $750 + $45 shipping +tax.
Dolmar out the door with 24" bar, 3 loops 12 pack of full synthetic mix, two files for $550. So saw alone would be approximately $480 ish.
    So Ya $300 cheaper here.
Oh and the 620p w was $680 before tax.

However I think a great dealer to me is as much of a swaying point as many other options especially when you are dealing with such quality saws.
A great dealer is worth the compromise a lot of times.

That's a great value for what you are getting.

If you shop around, a complete 562 can be had for well under 700 clams OTD. I have never seen Stihl for more than $20 under MSRP but I hear there are a dealer or two who will sell them over the internet for less if you know who to ask.

Yeah I know I could probably get 500 on the Dolmar otd, but the dealer is a friend, and I get chain cheap from him. Like CoreyB said the friendship is worth more to me than 50 bucks.

Never found a stihl dealer willing to deal on price much, but to me walking out of there with a saw @ msrp and 3 loop of excellent stihl chain would still be a good deal.

Years ago i bought an 066 and got a bunch of chain and some chaps. They always seem willing to throw 70-150 bucks worth of gear in on the deal.

None of the husky dealers in my area are worth a hoot and don't as a rule wheel and deal either. There's good and bad dealers for all the brands I just happen to have a few bad husky dealers around here it seems.

The point is, its still a solid 150-200 difference in my area. Sounds like more in other areas. That buys alot of chain, bar/mix oil, etc. I don't like buying bargain tools, but that isn't the case here. I don't run 60cc saws much, but if I did, I would go with the bench made Dolmar in this case. If I had to sell everything for some cash and go to a one saw plan, I'd probably run a cs590. Best bang for your buck right there.

When i was a pro I used to be a big Stihl guy. Then i realized Huskies werent all bad. Except that damm outboard clutch! Now I run some of everything. Dolmar, echo, Stihl, and sometimes even Huskies. You should try a dolmar at a GTG sometime you might like it.

I was toying with buying a Sthil one time and I asked the guy closest to me if he would match the dealer close to my cabin ($30 difference). He actually got angry at me that the other dealer was selling for less than MSRP because "he cant do that". OK buddy. Didn't end up buying a Stihl at the end of the day.

That's funny around me you can't drop a tree without hitting a stihl dealer. I have no problem playing them off each other to my great advantage. They always seem eager to make the sale.

In the area I live in, the closest store that sells Dolmar sells at full retail, and is about 40 miles away. The biggest model they carry is a 5105. I have only seen one Dolmar dealer within 60 miles of me that has carried a full line of Dolmars and he is no longer sells saws. Most dealers I have visited in this area that carry Dolmar only carry them for a short period of time before they quit handling them. Dolmar makes very good saws, but there distribution is lacking in many parts of the country.

I only know of one Dolmar dealer and the biggest saw he had was also 5105 at $475. At that point the 590 is a much better deal.

Missouri my man. And i carry the 421,5105,6100,7910. Only carry the pro line. The 5105 and 6100 are the 2 sought after saws in my neck of the woods if they will run a dolmar. Most won't give it a look if it dosnt say stihl! Those that dare to try one have yet to be disappointed!

I got to run a Miller ported 7910 and it was definitely a good runner. I don't remember it being any louder than any of the other ported saws there. After hearing the kart saw that was there, the ported saws didn't seem nearly as loud. Nice job on the 6100.

24" bars are ordered. unfortunately i will be getting the bill for them in just a couple days and they are possibly supposed to show up by end of the month. Wednesday i should have a cost on all the special order bars so everyone can start saving their pennies up
