This is definetly NOT the way to get out of school or work!

Dangerous business, firewood is. Running chain saws, hydrolic systems pushing a sharp wedge at 25 tons, 4000lb trees, a wall full of stacked splits, etc. it's all dangerous. A good wake up call for everyone. Glad it wasnt worse.

Get well brother. I've had close calls on the splitter so I now use two pickeroons to move wood around on the splitter. Keeps from havi g to bed over to pick up rounds too. My next forging project is going to be a pickeroon head out of a railroad spike and I'm gonna put a 16" handle on it so it's easy to use on the splitter

Wow that's a tough break, glad it wasn't worse for you. Good job to the doctor for putting it all back together. I've come close doing that on a gnarly split that jumped in the splitter. That's a good reminder of how a splitter can catch you off guard at times.

Wow! Glad it wasn't worse! My dad did the same thing but further down on the pointer finger. After his surgery he had a permanent pointer finger because it couldn't bend at the knuckle. I get nervous around splitters because it seems to me that's where a lot of the mishaps occur. Don't have a splitter myself. The tool I worry about is my pickeroon. Stabbed myself in the foot with it so I limped around for about two weeks. Bout quit using it.
    :pain:
    Get well soon!!!!!
