I'm glad this thread got de-railed. Didn't like the direction of it at all.

I didn't see an issue in anything that was said. It was a discussion on voting...not about the parties to vote for.

That's correct. Just teetering on the point of disagreement.

Lets face it...we are very passionate about the beliefs/choices we hold.

Not sure what you mean. No political corner, if that is what you mean.
I love this country, and speak as one who has lived in 5 different countries, and travelled in many others. I strongly believe in freedom and appreciate that there are many freedoms here.

However, my exercise of freedom does not include voting, because I do not believe in appointing people to be in power over other people. I find that morally reprehensible, even when it is done by vote.

On another subject, I cut a nice pile of 2018-2019 BTUs today! :saw::stacke::dancer:

    I understand.

I'm ok with with disagreement as long as it's discussed like adults and kept nice though.

Anyone who actively seeks the presidency should be denied on principle. That said, I second the motion for Gasifier as pres.

No, I live in more freedom than I did before.
Not one of his finest moments. Wouldn't a good monarchy be better than a bad democracy?

I used to vote, back when I thought it mattered. I watched a lot more TV in those days, so perhaps back then I was more in tune with the things that are important in my real life.

I tried to watch a debate the other day, but I think I must have missed it, because I'm pretty sure it was an episode of Celebrity Apprentice. Speaking of which, perhaps that would be a way to "spice" things up and get more people interested again: instead of voting for the candidate who says the most things that you want to hear, we decide who is the most full of BS and fire them from politics forever.
