I am curious of how many of my fellow wood hoarders make it out to vote? I believe that voting is one of the greatest ways that we can express our freedom. I heard the other day that nearly 60% of Americans do not vote. This is troubling and would only contribute to corruption in government. So as following the old slogan from the 1700's we need to unite as a country or die, back then it was about uniting the colonies but I believe it is applicable to today in that we need to unite to vote, and by doing that we are expressing our freedom and democracy works best. What do you all think?

We'll be in a spot if wood stoves were ever forcefully banned:mad:
    I vote.
Some of the locals and coworkers say, "My vote don't count for nothin' "
I'm not a fan of that mentality, but TO EACH THERE OWN

    Corruption in government?

Are you sure that could even happen?

With all their morals and values, integrity???

As long as Names are kept out of it (party & "news makers"), maybe the slope can be ascended without the inherent slipping?

But good of you to issue the appropriate verbiage papadave :salute:

My parents always said too many people fought and even died for me to be able to vote. It's a slap in their faces not to vote.

Nope, I used to vote, even when I lived overseas. I don't any longer. It is not laziness or apathy, I just no longer can endorse the foolishness (at best) and evil (at worst).

Sorry, I know my opinion will not be "liked" much, but you did ask.

If you don't vote, then you better not have anything to complain about.

Oh, there remains plenty to complain about ... and no the right to speak freely is not contingent on voting.

But I don't complain much, I mostly laugh at the silly people who think they have some sort of authority over me because somebody else chose them.

Vote all the time. A great privilege I'm not giving up without a fight. One of the many freedoms we have do to huge sacrifices of those who came before us.

There is more to the system than voting. Maybe you should make a change in it by running for office? Since you said it's not apathy you still have interest in changing the problem, so get in there and shake things up.

Even if you don't make a huge change you may help or inspire others to make changes too. It all adds up my friend :)

I've always voted... always will. I see it as an obligation and a privilege... even when the possibilities are less than perfect. The perfect candidate does not exist.
