None of us claim to know it all but the overwhelming majority of us here are well versed in the who, what, where, when and how of all things pellet....
one more thing...... As someone who Does go to the 'other place at times, I do tend to forget that most of the 'newbies are there and not here... 2 different places...
I gotta admit, although I had seen it before, I didn't remember what was on it. I'm at that CRS stage - and have been for, well, I forget how many years
Thanks for the update about the prices at HD. I just checked our local store. They had been holding out while many of you were discussing the $199 stuff. I went on line tonight, this is what I found: And from Lowes: When I was last in there, they had three brands of @3.98/BAG
I wish I could. I have the funds to do it, I just don't want to push my son any further about making space. Im not able to help move things. He works really hard so it I'm trying not to be over bearing asking for things. He gave up a lot last year to transform this house to accommodate our disabilities and to make a space for his family to live. I will say this, I think anyone who can, should get all they can. Even if it takes you 5 years to use them, the 200/ton is a good price. My Harman loves most all those brands being discounted at the big stores. Even the local hardware stores discounted and moved their inventory out.
When I left Lowes today they had 3 bags of Inferno Gold left in addition to the GT's. I think the other brands are sold out. I'll now turn my attention to HD.
For the most part the box store stuff is sister pellets of other brands. The reason for sister brands is many dealers get pizzed if the boxstore sells that same brand as they do(usually at a lower price) So the mills have had to get creative to sell to both...We found most by the UPC code and a few by tips from peeps that work in the industry. I'll have to start a whats in the bag thread for the peeps that hang here. If you would like? Gotz a file somewhere if I can find it............ Of coarse it will grow as every year it seems they throw us another curve(or off coarse). I always wanted to log all the UPC codes but never did get to it. Something to also put on the tado list. All we have here is the TSC threads in the stickies so far.
Wait, what just happened? Best I can tell, Tully was mentioning something about which energex was which. Then I blinked and everyone's meeting at the monkey bars after school to prove who's uncle is tougher. I thought I knew all of the different lines of energex until different colors were thrown into the mix. I spend 95+ish% of my forum time on this site over some others because we all get along for the most part and talk pellets. We (my wife and I)send our customers here for that reason.
Not everyone. The blame should go all to me. The class crap erked me. It also looked to me like he trying to take credit for sluething the intel on the Energex/Premier connection. Kind of stepped on my toes a bit, My bad and I honestly thought we had all this Energex/Premier brands covered long ago. Glad CleanFire could get something from it.
ok.. let me chime in 1 last time..Promise.. my post was not about energex/premier stuff.. it was about where energex's 2 hardwoods come from [US] and where energex's 3 softwoods come from. Canada. with Picture of the 5 flavors.. we're all good here...
My explaining is you did mention stove chow in the post and thats was very hard to connect as the UPC is still the old catamount. So it was pretty hard to connect. Took a bit of diggin on my end and thats were it seemed you stepped on my toes!! Plus I had to slueth up that Energex bought the rights for Chows. All thanks to tips I received from pellet reps and other smarter than me peeps. Yes we are good, Sorry I was so defensive, Again I apologize!! Something good will come from this! We will expand the knowledge base with a sister brand thread that we can all can add info to. Sticky it so the new members can take advantage of it. I will also try to do a UPC code list we can add to for reference.
Ok, everyone can have a Group Hug. (There's no Love emoticon.) Ok, that just sounds too weird, let's all have a Beer. JT, I would be happy to help with compiling a list / spreadsheet that showed which pellet brands are sourced from a given manufacturer, mill, and store: that would be a real help to me personally, and I think it would have value to other folks as well.. Just let me know here, in a new thread, and/or by PM, I'm game. Kind Regards, Rob
