My Uncle, poor lil guy lived from 1929-1931, succumbed to epidemic encephalitis at 21 months old. I finally found his unmarked grave in 2005. After attempts to do it back then (lots of family members I could not coordinate that are now gone sadly so he never got a headstone), I intended to use their wishes but its up to me now so I am doing it, $ paid but I need to choose a marker pic. Not sure what to choose, which designs do you like? Please open PDF below:)

    Thanks in advance:)

The scripted "Suffer the children....." is nice.
Can you opt for a custom inscription? Something like "though departed young, but not forgotten, always loved" or some such....

Just my 2 cents. I wouldn't want it too secular or too overtly religious. These two are a nice middle ground. Overall, this story is very sad, but all to common in that day and age.

Yes I can add an inscription and I am planning on it :) , my father (he is currently ill too after I initiated this last month) He "Mom And Dad Will Never Forget You" and I will make that happen, but he left the marker up to me. You are so kind Eric, same sentiment as your inscription:)

I like 324. The dark stone with the lamb and the dove.
Great that you are following through with this gesture, WW.

Tim, I happen to gravitate towards the angels and more religious markers, but my father that is living (AWESOME father) left God a long time ago, I think 324 is an excellent choice!!!! I have too much to say about God, my upbringing and his, but this one appeals to me and I know he would be pleased with it too. Thanks!! Decision to be made on Sunday but I am quite partial to 324 for many reasons.

I like the one with the hands, so symbolic in so many ways. But the most important part is you doing something that makes you feel good about it. My wife's parent's ashes were put into a lake. That is what they wanted. Some of my parent's ashes were scattered on a mountain top over looking the ocean. The rest were put into the family cemetery with a flat marker. Their urns had praying hands on them.

Any choice would make a nice selection, but 324 subtly suggests that he, like the figure on the stone is thought of as a lost little lamb. I applaud your kind and thoughtful effortsWildwest.

I won't comment on the marker choice, but I will say that you are honoring your family and it's history. Good job.

    342 or 324.

I think either of those would hold a meaning for religious and secular alike.

As someone who did not grow up with a religious background, I see a lamb that is ready to walk / play / adventure with the child, as well as comfort him. Don't know anything about "lost lambs" so maybe it is similar (or not, sorry for my lack of knowledge).

It is a beautiful thing you take upon yourself WW!

I have walked many a cemetery reading headstones and if I were doing this, I would keep it simple with a name, birthdate and death date, block lettering nothing else. headstones from that time are very simple. I would go as far as to find weathered stone not glossy and perfect, but thats just me.
