Has anyone ever seen a stove that has jumped itself out and is non responcive to any saftey during normal run mode? I had an issue last night with my auger continuously running in shut down mode to the point where it had to be unplugged from the wall. I tested all safteys today and tried to recreate the problem and I discovered no safteys work at all. I can literally pull the wires off the exhaust motor and the auger will still turn and the fire continue till it runs out of Air. I can remove and disconnect the vaccum and hi temp switch stick them in another room in a box and the stove with run fine. Im shocked. Obviously a bad board but im just shocked

I have not researched the Ashley's controller, But assume the safeties run through a common relay. If the relay contacts stick it will hold the circuit closed even if the safeties fault. Odd it will happen, But it isn't impossible...........

Another vote for possessed and/or the stove has gemlins.

Us stove wants 600$+ for this board. This is my second stove in so many years. This stove was a complete replacement for my previous stove purchased in 2014. Us stove deemed this nessacary because I replaced every part on the stove winter 14. When this stove arrived this past october it had a bent auger chute which led to pellets bouncing out of the burn pot. I tried to remedy this by bending the chute bag into place in which I was somewhat successful. I asked us stove for a replacement they declined because I attempted to repair the chute. I called BS and installed my other stove. Us stove demanded I send the old stove and install the new one or they where going to seek legal action against me. They sent this in a certified letter. I complied as I cannot fight us stoves lawyers with my scedule and bank account. I have cut ties with us stove and will never do buisness with them again. Thjs the reason I cannot and will not seek warranty help

I figured I will rewire my stoves safteys by breaking the auger motor leads and running.them thru the existing safteys as the safteys them selfs still work the board just dosent accept it. Luckily the low temp switch still works properly on start up and shut down modes. If the vaccum , hopper or hi temp switch open the auger will be disconnected. Then buy a harmon when the time is right

Lordz I know your not afraid to drive. Check out CL, there's bound to be some good deals on Hormoans out there these days. Just did a quick search and there's a couple XXVs for $2500 - $2700 in NH and VT and a 2 yr old P43 for $2000 in the Worcester area. Cripes I would jump on that if I didn't already have one!

LordZ, only time I've seen that here is when we first got the Francesca and the stove was hard-reset to European default specs, which would "approximate" a scrambled control board. (Which is why we need to run a UPS w/ this stove.)

Did the stove take a power hit ?

I like your idea about rewiring safety controls in-line, 'cause it sounds like the control board is having some 'issues'..

Tap on the relays on the board. They stick sometimes.

No power hits here. I recently ran a new dedicated circuit for the stove but thats wired correct of course. My auger/saftey idea is the only option aside from junking it. Cant put 600$ into a lemon stove

I hear you - given your experience, I wouldn't be dropping 6 Benjamin's into the stove either.

    * Good luck on the fix - Snowy Rivers has much experience w/ stove safety controls: if you are unsure w/ anything, post it up: I'm sure she would help.

Best advise I can offer is make sure you do not run the stove unattended, post-fix, for a period of days/weeks, until you are comfortable it is working as expected: took a few weeks after rehabbing the Francesca, until I felt comfortable letting her run overnight here.

Some of us like simple things.
Last yr, came across a dealer that had a rebuilt advantage 2t for 1800. All new motors etc. Free standing. If i had the truck i may have looked at it.

Yesterday I went to rewire the stove and found the safteys where magically working again. I continued my rewiring as this stove cant be trusted.all the orginal saftey leads had to be jumped out at the time. Everything worked out great and any loss of vaccum or any temperTure to high cuts the auger power and throws the stove into low temp error shut down. Tested everything and the stove is working again well keeping the hearth pad warm for the new harman soon enough
