I mentioned before you could reach out if you wanted to split big projects..:dex:... I suggest getting a ratchet rake and maybe chains or R1 tires. The ratchet rake is helpful for moving brush. I bought the log clamp for the front of mine when the rake wasn't cutting it. You might be able to find one on sale at Tractor Supply if you are lucky.

Thanks Amigo. The turf tires on the BX do ok until everything thaws but the 200 yards into the pasture are muddy and tough to get through, for me and the BX. As long as I don't break through the sod in the pasture things seem to be fine but the biggest issue right now is work. The resort is crazy with a golf course rebuild and my shop at home is really gearing up so about 1 day a week is all I have and the weather plays a big part so I can get in and out in one piece.

My best estimate is a stack of logs about 4 to 5 times the size of the pic with the tractor parked next to it. If you think it's something you'd be interested in splitting, shoot me a message and we'll work it out.

If you ever want to change your tires check with the dealer. They can get a whole set of wheels and tires for around $350 through whole goods.

Yes, a whole set mounted on wheels. The BX has 26x12x12 rear and 18x8.50x10 (on newer BXs) or 18x8.50x8 (Older BX) for the front.

I think I'm lucky to get a rear tire and tube and mount for my Yanmar for $200

I have small 15" front tires too. It's 2wd and I think there like $65 isH on ebay or agrisupply each!! Those are just plain tririb china tires.

I will send you a PM later this week. I have two other hoards I am cleaning up as weather allows. If I remember right they were concerned with ruts and tearing up the field, so my tractor may not work. Let me get back to you soon. If I come across some other large jobs, i will catch you on the front end.

Got a little more cut today. These logs are 16' to maybe 22' or so.

I think those are 20"S on the but. As a forester I think of measurements at DBH which is 4.5' up. But yes as a forest product or as a mill takes them they talk about but diameter. But they usually cut out the but swell.

Cut for a few more hours this morning since it will be the last time I can get out there until it dries up some. Temps are rising for the next week and I doubt I could have made it back out to the truck if I waited much longer.

It looks like you are making good use of your tractor and saws.

You should build a carry all to haul your gear. I built one out of a pallet so I can use it with my front or rear forks.

Thanks 94BULLITT. I'm very surprised at what the little BX is capable of so far. I've been pushing trees up into a pile to skid a few at a time and it's handled everything so far. Slow going today because of the distance I have to skid to the brush pile but my best guess, really just guessing here, is roughly 15 to 18 face cord in the 2 piles of logs. My next guess is I think this is roughly 40% of the wood in the pasture. Lots of work but the price is right and close to home. Just need some dry weather and I'll start hauling the logs home.

Your carry-all idea is sweet. Might have to make one as well.

Log pile is slowly getting larger now that it's dry enough to get back out into the pasture. My wife came out today to help with the limbs and brush and mentioned that I should rent something big to help out. Might have to do that since it was her idea.

What she actually said was that we should rent a big tractor with the grabby thing (grapple) on the front to help with the brush and limbs. I should have asked for her help a long time ago I guess and maybe this job would be done by now.
