It's 13 right now. Ash and Pine burning in the Wood Gun. Trying to warm the garage back up after I apparently left the door up for about 45 minutes. Ouch.Ouch.Ouch.Ouch.
Sounds like me yesterday, small window in the bathroom the cat likes to get up there and look out for a few minutes, but I forgot didn't know why it was chilly in here after hour and a half, I figured it out
Shut the furnace off today and burning some red oak to get the house warm. It's in the 30's now but getting colder here, plus I get another blast of chemo tomorrow and that makes me cold as ice for about 5 days! Piled up a bunch of wood so I just have to sit in front of the woodstove and recoup until Sunday.
Headed for upper single digits tonight! Last hurrah for a packed really tight, red oak loaded stove! Creeping back towards highs in the 50s and lows in the upper 30s/low 40s for the foreseeable future by the weekend. Will still run the stove on partial loads in a shoulder season manner.
16 degrees. 1" at most. Mom and kids to be disappointed when they get up. They all thought school would be cancelled for sure.
not real cold overnight but last evening sure was windy. i figured we would lose power but never did. that is a good thing. spitting snow now and i am burning some more fabulous maple splittage! maple has been beddy beddy good to me this year.
Bad winds here too last nite around 11. 20 now. Dusting of snow. Head cold with chills. Blahhh. Packed full load of coal and oak. Road trip into the big city for parts and trailer registration. Blahhh. Hope its toasty in here when I get back.
66 right now in jacksonville . We walked out on the beach yesterday afternoon. Little boy got in the water till her was shivering !
It's heading down to -5 tonight, we'll burn some Beech on the bottom row with some nice Ironwood on the top row.
I'm jealous!! We are really considering a move to SC in the next 5 years or so. I have to stay here for my treatments and doctors, I have to be watched closely for the next 5 years until they call me "cured". But then we are seriously considering moving there. My wife was in a really bad car accident 20 years ago and broke 18 bones so she has bad arthritis and the cold weather around here really bothers her. So we need some warmer climates and SC is in the top 5 so far.
along the coast they rarely get cold or frost. In the upstate we have more cool weather than they do.
Yeah, I'd still like to be where I can have a wood stove. Standing snow, ice and sub zero temperatures we would like to get away from. We have some friends in NC and they get snow but it doesn't last long, they have a lot more nicer days than not.
I'd stay above Columbia then. The moutain or the very top has the closet obviously. If your house doesn't have insulation or very very limited amout like mine you still burn just like you live in michigan!
9 here right now. Going to -10. Basement heated to 82 right now. Thermo now turned down. Ash burning nicely in boiler.
