That shot was taken by a family member. She has a SLR type, automatic, I think it is a Canon. I recently purchased a Canon. It is HD and 50x optical zoom. Hard to believe, but some of my shots were taken with my Samsung 5S smart phone. Sometimes I do download them and let my computer program do an adjustment. Usually brightness. No added filter lenses. These cameras are so automatic, there isn't much to be done. A lot of the pictures I post are taken by some of my friends. Most of those I don't know how they are taken. My cousin and my niece take a lot of the pictures I have. The last one, as well as many others of that stream were taken by a cousin in Litchfield at a farm that has been in the family for several generations.
With the leaves all gone, and the grass is brown, the woods looks very gray and barren. However there is some color that nature has to display. Around here, near wet areas, there is a display of red winter berries. These berries can be cut and use with mixed evergreens for a nice winter feature on the porch etc. But be warned, the birds will have their way with the berries!
Ooops, I didn't realize there was a berry called winter berry. You did mention their name in the picture post.
Sunrise on the stream in Litchfield ME. Feb 29th Ice out so early. This doesn't look like a typical picture for Feb around here, but it is very real.
Crazy winter there for sure. We were scheduled to go to Caribou snowmobiling last week, but our cabin guy called and told me not to come up two days before we were to go. The rain had ruined the trails. So we went to the UP of Michigan instead
