Problem is they will want to dump everything . Maybe take some semi junk at first ...like pine or some knotty stuff, before you turn into a wood snob and just request perfect straight 14" diameter red oak logs.
45f on the way down to 36 tonight. I did find a different brand of pellets at the TSC store in Muncie. So far they're outperforming the easy heats handily. Small ash and maple fire in the insert. Tucking in for a long winter's nap. I'm beat. Prolly bucked and left a cord and a half out in Pop's woods today. And drug an old monster up to higher ground to prevent it rotting before I could get to it. Good lord what a mess. You guys are a bad influence!
27 here, snow storm rolling in. Burning elm. Tomorrow's commute in may be a little dicey. Taking the 4runner, because I never put snow tires on the Audi. Those all seasons are pretty shot, so I'll take the 4runner with the great AT tires.
Yes. Thank you. It got cold quick last night! Down to 4 on the back porch this morning. Ash and Pine going in the gun.
13° now, will probably drop another degree or 2 before the some comes up. Only predicted 17° for a low... but I knew better! Loaded the stove full of the usual red oak last night. Still a nice 70° in here right now. Only headed to 23° today, so I will stuff it full again before heading to work!
We've had some good winds here the last 2 days but nothing out of the ordinary for winter. On the lake plateau its breezey at minimum most of the time. Temp also dropped fast here last nite. 22 now. Supposed to hit high 40's. Forecast has been off considerably lately. 62 in the house when I got up at 5:30. Up to temp now with coak a coala!
Enjoy, it's nice to get away from the winter this time of year, however looking at your location that really doesn't apply to you. I'll be in cocoa beach in less than a week and in Charleston early May.
I'm originally from charleston. Yea our hardest part of winter is over. Still nothing for most of you.
I've spent a lot of time down there over the years. I have relatives who live in Mt. Pleasant, get down to visit often, beautiful area.
We were told yesterday to maybe expect up to an inch of snow today and it should be over by 9AM. It is now after 9:30AM and we have close to 4 inches of fresh snow and still coming down. Time to run the snow blower again
its in the 40s and im burning a dead ash that fell a few weeks ago ,no need to wait this stuff has been standing dead for years ,and there are many more ,this ash borer has made a mess
25 out,, burnin ash n hickory, 4" of snow so far,, snowing 1 1/2" of snow an hour now. They have changed the snowfall amounts now * STORM TOTAL ACCUMULATION OF 7 TO 11 INCHES WILL BE LIKELY
This mornings drive in was alot better than yesterday's! The wind has died down to a breeze, temps and wind chill are still a bit cold for outside work, but driving is 100% better. -2 last night (without the wind). 13 now, but still nippy with the breeze. Below zero again for tonight, but I think it'll be even colder than last night. No snow!
Haha!! We also have the Asian Long horned Beetle problem in our area and tree companies cannot take wood out of the zone and I am just out of that zone! There's a tree company across the driveway from the shop I work for and I talked to the guy and he was willing to let me take what ever I wanted but then we realized I'm outside the zone so I can't take the wood!
